DayZ Update 1.23 Explained - NWAF Changes, New Items, Spawns, Graphics - PC / Xbox / PS4 PS5

Everyone hating on this new updates, it’s creating a solid game and maybe they didnt give up a NWAF Bunker but it doesn’t mean they won’t add it later same with the truck. They’ll also probably add more attachments for all the guns so we will have to see but this update was pretty solid especially considering how fast it was dropped after 1.22

The "Bunker" should not of been teased, its the biggest letdown of the year. Its literally a basement with a couple peices of furniture. Also a useless bathroom for "lore". Edit: Rest of the update was solid, and the NWAF rework is cool. Its just a letdown because of it being so misleading.

This was the biggest update this year and it was a bit of a let down but it did pad out the game a little bit. At least the skybox change is very nice.

I'd also like to say, I can't see this new player spawn technique working well...if everyone is spawning in the same vicinity for a certain time, the loot will be absolutely picked through after the first 2 people.... even if it's not, it's turning it more into a deathmatch server with everyone spawning close to each other..... the changes made for no reason by the devs have been making me confused for years now

There’s a version that isn’t rendered in DayZ editor, it’s a tan/brown color with seats and a different interior I thought it was gonna be some sort of no like base because you can stand in the back and there was cabinets

I dont think it would be possible without an engine rework, in order to be able to stand in the bacl you would have to elimimate the issue where you instamtly die standing on or by a vehicle, if your not in a seat you get animation locked and 9 times out of 10 die

the spawning is main reason why lot of friends dont want to play Dayz as you have to run for hours for finally meeting up...and then once killed you have to run again for days...

Tires from the firefighter vehicle racks are the same tires that are used on the truck so you can always just go to fire station and maybe you get some wheels.

I think the equip option is when you hover an item and hold 1,2,3, etc it will assign it, as opposed to dragging it to the slot. used to bug out and have multiple items overlapped on the same slot.

The LAR and SVD can u still find it at heli crashes or no because you can’t find them anywhere else other then that anyway. And the military convoys. It’s quite hard to get to toxic zones when it takes 1 hacker to set you back to square one

I did some snooping and looking through DayZ editor there is a new holographic sight, so I think they should add that sight plus a 6x , 7x , 8x and then maybe a scope that’s specifically made for the M14 DMR, it would make sense that we could optimize our weapons with scopes even if it’s an FAL (LAR) it should be a be able to have something better than an ACOG. Im just hoping they do a weapon attachment overhaul update with the addition of bipods, grips, lasers because lasers are in the files as well

@@Nitno well for starters, I don’t really like competition that much. And when you spawn completely randomly, its a lot more loot for you and you don’t really have to be that careful. But when it’s a spawn bubble, you have to be more cautious and there’s more competition for loot, especially on high traffic servers. I can understand for people who like action or like making friends how this is a good thing, but in my opinion, I don’t like meeting random players, because if they don’t have a mic it’s very awkward and it’s hard to communicate. But if they do have a mic then maybe you can make a new friend (assuming they don’t backstab you),But most random DayZ players won’t have a mic. But if you want to find a teammate it’s perfect because you’ll spawn right next to each other. But for me playing with a team is pretty rare, mostly because most of my friends don’t play DayZ, and on the discord it’s kind of hard to find someone because it’s pretty quiet on there (on the Xbox LFG anyways).

@@Nitno although I love the new sky changes. Especially nighttime because there’s something about space that I love, it also makes night somewhat more enjoyable. It’s also adds detail of where you can see the milky way because there’s no light pollution, suggesting the apocalypse might have been going on for a while (or I’m assuming that’s how light pollution works).

Everyone shows wrong "Cutting Planks" changes xD. Cutting planks from that static pile of planks have the sounds since many years untouched. "Cutting planks" sounds are the crafting recipe when you use saw on woodenlogs 🙄

Would like to know where exactly VAL and VSS spawn now. I think this change is great. Doing this to VSS only would also make sense. If you want VAL with NATO attachments - go into the gas. Even though the difference is kind of minor.

@@Nitno that’s great to know, thanks. I heard from another content creator he found one on a heli-crash. That would be more or less fair, I guess. Since the AKs and M16 moved to tier 3(I think), the VSS and VAL would probably be tier 4 and heli/convoy and not less.

Now, the only things I see "good" in this update, and they're pretty lackluster except the one, is the skybox, lighting, and weather/cloud change (only great one)... love the return of the moonlit nights from old DayZ 👌 The return of the M14 DMR which WOULD be awesome, except they forgot the Harris bipod and the Ops Inc Type 12 Suppressor...of course they did 🙄 I like the hats and gloves, they really should be adding in a couple clothing pieces EACH update regardless, as well as EACH update should include an old weapon we're STILL missing, because there's over 20 still missing. The moving of certain rifle spawns was good (even though I wouldn't consider that part of an update). The vehicle pushing is great, except is looks like absolute garbage with the animation taking too long and the vehicle moving away and you're still sitting there pushing air.... ridiculous 😅 If the vehicles now drive like they should, great. And I'm pissed about that V3S Command Version (that's what it's called, the Command)...we were supposed to receive a drivable Command years ago.... and here we are, still waiting.....they better not have updated it's skin, and interior (because a Command wreck was already on the map) and with seats and workable windows.... and then not give us a drivable one with stable 1.23.....it'll be pathetic...but I don't trust them.... they'll forget to give it to us, just like they forgot to return leather crafting and leather clothing still

The push is a game changer, found a perfect car, walked for like 30-40 mins to find and bring back spark plug, was greedy and tried to hide the car and got stuck on a teeny weeny ass branch in the forest 😂

The m14 is .308, takes 10-20 rnd mags, accepts western optics and a bottle suppressor. What’s the actual difference between it and the LAR?

No full auto. It'll be more of an actual battle rifle than an assault rifle. Don't get me wrong.. It's quite similar but, I'm happy for more variety anyhow

Yeah not a massive difference. I have not compared the stats side by side yet, I'm guessing there's differences in bullet velocity, availability, and the iron sights.

So you basically have to all click respawn around the same time. It'll put you at different spawn points, but somewhere near the same city / town.

There is a high probability. Changes to the towers almost guarantees it. Also NWAF buildings, some no longer exist.

I can't understand why making such poor updates in such a long period of time, on the play5 there are only two maps and bugs still unresolved, but in the end no one cares about the playability if you have twenty-four different colors for the gloves, so you can die in style at least. Livonia, DLC paid €15, in which they didn't even have the decency to put invisible walls at the edges of the map, points where there is nothing not even the lawn, I don't understand this choice.
