Ahhh I remember my begining days on dayz. Spent first couple of days on official, dying to starvation. Some times i couldn't find food, something I had canned food but couldn't open it.

All you guys saying "all you need is just ____" well guess, what I spent 90 effin minutes running around towns and on a map THIS big, every door was opened, every house is empty - im lucky if i find a dress, let alone a cracker or even a gun. All these items yall speak of do not exist for me lol Looting in this game is terrible. I played tons of project zomboid, 300hrs+ so i know a thing or two about difficult survival games but this game literally you can run through an entire town, 30 minutes of wasted time, and find absolutely NOT A THING.

People sleep on coast guns too much. Luck had me deep in land with a sporter and a pump. In between towns i came across a geared player, presumably fresh from a helicopter or nw, boiling some fish near a pond. One well placed 22 and a serving of buckshot later, all my looting was done for me.

You say taking out an entire pack of wolves will set you up greatly for food. But you can’t eat wolf steaks. Unless you take tetra with every steak😅

Also noticed that you ran past alot of fruit trees. I understood that it could be good to circle back to see if any fruit spawned on the ground beneath the trees?

Noticed that you are sprinting alot. Heard that this is a bad idea for newer players since it requires you to be better at finding food and water.

Do not forget to include checking fruit trees as you run by. Unless the fruit glitch has not yet been fixed.

14:14 lose time. And daylight. I spawned in at night and could see nothing... if do not move, you die from hunger and cold. Realism kills me 9/10 in this game

Yeah my first couple lives, I never left the spawn ring. It took me forever to not be hungry and thirsty, and I was so bad at fighting zombies, and kinda afraid of them so I was way too cautious. I went in completely blind though, no tutorial vids, just a peek at the key binds. I didn't know what could be crafted or what I would need to do it. I didn't know about dirty hands and bottles water being poison. Kept getting sick and didn't know why. 😂 And I was assuming a lot of stuff was junk, like a Bethesda game. Thankfully I am pretty persistent and patient with games, cus I can see why all the most basic achievements are still only ~25% of players and why so many people quit. I enjoy the struggle of games like this. But I still had to watch a few vids cus I didn't know what I was doing wrong and what would actually work. The game is so brutal, I just never thought "oh smack 2 rocks together for a knife" You ever try to make fire with a fire drill IRL? You gotta be pretty desperate to even try. 2 seconds? Try 2 days and bleeding hands. And you sure as hell aren't using green branches cracked off a bush to do it. 😂😂😂😂
