[Daz Studio] Clean up your content database!

Thank you very much! This helped me to resolve a issue I was having with the smart content filter, getting stuck on a character (Lord Of The Abyss). It already was deleted from my computer, but every time i was loading a gen8 character, it kept coming back and was stuck on it when "filter by content" was checked. I'm so happy i found this short video, much appreciated my friend!

Thank you! That solved the annoying niggle of my new products not showing in Smart Content (due to the sheer amount of stuff I now have installed in Daz). Now everything's visible and I have access to all my new stuff. Perfect.

Would this help with my black screen issue? I’m currently having issues with Daz studio just going black and my laptop being unresponsive to the point where I have to hard reset it. This only seems to happen when I’m in Daz studio and I’m working on my models. It doesn’t happen when I’m in iray or anything else.

One of the issues that I face is that I have a handful of products in my smart content folder that won’t ever update despite it telling me there’s an update available and then trying to install that update.

I tend to just do updates manually. It's just as easy and you know it's done

My smart content never worked properly and I always relayed on content library instead. Since I've been using Daz since Genesis 1 was relatively new and I was later keeping that library when reinstalling system and Daz it only keeps getting more content in it for newer generations of Genesis. I bet I'd recover about 60gigs if I could remove Genesis 1 and 2 content as well as some Poser content that didn't exactly work but stayed in library, because browsing through mesh data, textures and so on would be absolute pain... Plus I don't know the paths for everything.

I would ask for one other bit of advice… “How to migrate all databases to a different drive. I don’t want DAZ filling up my os drive when I have a 2tb nvme fir file storage…

Do you mean your content folder or the database?

as it copies the folder and, it also copies the address with some changes so that daz does not have to search again, the files
