As a dental assistant, I can say this is incredibly dangerous in so many ways. Sure, you may be pulling the tooth, but are you draining the abscess completely? If not, it'll only come back. And antibiotics beforehand are NECESSARY to prevent illness from the infection. Are you getting all of the root of the tooth out? How would you know without a formal education? If the root is not completely removed, another abscess will follow due to the foreign object lodged inside the gums. There's also the risk of the tooth, being a permanent tooth, having roots that have grown into the nerves of the face. Removing the tooth in this circumstance would only cause permanent numbness to a side of her face, and irreparable damage to the nerve. The first tool the dentist showed was called an elevator. That is used as leverage to lift the tooth, slowly, so that it doesn't crack the tooth (this is my understanding and what I've seen, I don't have a formal education but I've been taught so much at my office). IF the tooth had cracked, they'd be screwed. They don't have nearly the right instruments to removed cracked pieces of tooth or root. God this was so hard to watch. Basically, people, just go to a dentist. This is insanity 😬😓

Thiiis. I'm not even a dental assistant and I know there are a thousand little ways something like this can go wrong. People think they're being so damn smart; bet a root canal or PROPER extraction would be a lot less expensive then cleaning up the potential consequences of a botched DIY one.

Omg I fully agree with this. As a kid I had most of not all my teeth removed due to anchorlitis (I think that’s what it’s called) and my destist got worried at one point bc he cracked a piece of tooth in my jaw and had to get it out. Very traumatic and watching this made me cringe so bad

Funny story from when I visited the dentist a while ago. We were in the waiting room, and in another room they were having work done so there was the sound of builders drilling etc. The nurse came through to call the next patient, and at the same time there was a particularly loud sound from the builders. The nurse apologised and said: "Sorry, we have builders in". The old guy headed to his appointment replied "I'd rather have a dentist". Honestly, funniest moment ever.

As a Dental Nurse (in the UK), the fact that the dentist had a little ‘show and tell’ moment blows my mind. Showing the patient the tools and telling them how you’ll do it is the best way to scar someone for life 😂 also just the thought of all that bacteria on the ‘tools’ they used makes my skin crawl. Don’t get me started on that ‘suction’. Honestly, just spend the money at the dentist because any infections in your mouth can easily lead to health concerns in your body, including your heart. Love the video Daz! Showed the video to everyone at work and while they found this woman absolutely insane, they thought you were hilarious 😂❤️
