Dude, the way this was edited is unlike any “filming locations” I’ve seen before. The in-shot reference was great, but the fact that it moves with the shot and how you pan the camera the same really brings it to life and makes this a next level presentation. Thanks for making this, it was thoroughly enjoyed

Growing up in the 70's was the greatest time of my life being a teenager. This movie reminded me of those special days, and yes, I too was one of the lucky ones (maybe not so lucky) to have been initiated into high school (before of course, it was stopped). Every time I see this movie I'm transported to those great day's. There will never be a time again like this, and thanks for the great retrospect.

The way you edited this with the movie overlay on the actual location.. Top tier stuff!! Love this whole review! Subscribed!
@davidshanholtz66742 жыл бұрын
Agreed!! The overlays made it easy to orient yourself to that location and compare the “then vs now” comparisons! I love how they added little re-enactments of certain scenes/locations, like leaning against the porch posts at Carl’s house, walking off the baseball field, etc. I also love how some of the locations have tried to preserve the history and remain true to the movie! All around great video! I’m a huge Dazed and Confused fan and may have to visit some of these locations myself! OH, and great Wooderson impressions!! That’s a nice touch!😂

I was a sophomore that fall of 76 in So Cal. Played football, learned to drive my parents 1970 roadrunner, which I bought from them. Paid $800… So many memories of a once in a lifetime era. This movie makes me feel my age (61) but for an hour I’m 16 with life way out in front of me. Thanks again for a great effort on your part…Oh… My first concert was Foghat in 77 San Diego sports arena..!!!

Man if I could give you a million likes for this video I would. Dazed and my #1 movie. I even have a shrine of everything Dazed and Confused in my basement; everything I can get my hands on. Awesome video!….. fun fact in the scene where Pickford is talking to the beer man, you can see the current owner of the house riding her bike. Her grandparents owned the house during the filming. I had the pleasure of watching the movie from inside that house! Also the carpet in Pickford room was still there I watched the movie at least 9 times in the theater back in the day!

I grew up in Austin and even though this film takes place in the 70's, so much of this sort of last day of school, 8th - 12th grade experience is timeless and universal. This movie makes me so nostalgic. Even though I went to high school from like 2002 to 2006. So many reasons why I DON'T miss those days, but those afternoons on the last day of school, well I wouldn't mind going back there one last time. I relate to Mitch in this movie. I was the young kid who the older kids took a liking to and accepted as one of their own. I just remember how cool that felt lol. Halcyon days of youth..

I was a senior '77 from Yukon, OK. My summer started on May 23, 1976, and I wish I could have had as much fun as this group of future seniors '77 did on that last day of school!!!!! We did our share of cruisin' on Main St. aka Hgwy 66, played Frisbee at the clearing at Lake Overholser and smoked some of that funny weed. We also drank some beers, but it wasn't Lone Star, unfortunately, because that was 6 point beer, and you could only purchase 3.2 beer here in Oklahoma until 2018, when the liquor laws were changed. They also changed the drinking age from 18 to 21 in 1984, so I lucked out! Yee Haw!!!! Alright, alright, alright!!!! BTW, it's not a mural of George Wahington....it's Uncle Sam! The best part of that time for me was the music!!!! Frampton, The Eagles, and Fleetwood Mac, as well as Kiss, Lynard Skynard, and ZZ Top were the bands that I had in my 1969 Chevy Impala with a 369 cubic inch engine that got 3 miles to the gallon. It was a good thing that gas only cost $.58 a gallon!!!! Lol Those were the days and thanks for sharing this video, which definitely brought back some great memories!!! Party on Dude!!!

I was born in 73. My dad was the football coach of the HS in my town. So as far back as 1979 is about the best I can remember. I would go with my dad to the football stadium and the practices as a kid and I remember all the HS kids looking and acting just like this. I remember bon fires, cars being beat with sledge hammers( opposing teams football name would be written on the car in spray paint) and the crazy stuff kids dont do today when school was out.

Couple of factoids: The white building across from the Emporium where O’Bannion gets his just desserts was originally a roller rink in the 50’s and 60’s. And the football field is Nelson Field, originally part of Reagan High School, now called Northeast Early College High School.

That was a great Vid and Doc. I was in 10th grade in the Houston Area when that film was released. There were so many similarities to the lifestyle of high school from the film. The hazing was such a big part of that as well. Think the girls got it worse than we did. I may be wrong... while yes filmed in Autin. I believe it was about the town Huntsville just a few north up from us on 45. We were from The Woodlands... so we played them in football. It was always a big game from what I remember. Thank you for taking me back a bit. My friends from that time always loved to watch the movie. Job well done.
