The problem with you analysing this footage is that you watch it from a pro/semi-pro perspective.You expect people to hit their shot and if they don't hit it doesn't mean it's a bad play it's just bad aim. Warowl aims to the lower rank players. Players who will miss that aggressive shot 9/10 times. It is better to play it more 'safe' in a position where they can escape from when they fail their shots like they almost always do. This brought me from 'new' player with 0 hours to LEM within 450 hours. Now that I'm a high ranked player that will always hit the necessary shots I can go for more aggressive peaks and not worry about retreating because I know I will hit that shot more often than not. This is why I watch pro players and more advanced tutorials now. It's a good thing to teach players from all levels to play more safely in positions they can screw up in and still live to tell the tale. I have lost countless matches in >LEM because some players only know aggressive play styles in spots that are good but require you to hit every shot. Which they didn't and therefore it got them killed every round without being any help to the team. Most players are not consistent and it's good to play safer by default because when I do have a bad match, that safer style of play often makes that I don't drag down the team and instead help support the better players on my team. When I do go for aggressive peaks it's a thought out strategy where I only use it against teams that I know don't like aggressive pushes.
@MASIcs8 жыл бұрын
BelowAverage Joe triggered
@MrJefferary10008 жыл бұрын
That doesn't change anything though. Missing shots because you can't aim doesn't automatically make something a bad play. It's still a good play, you just can't hit the shots.
@shubhamsneh45928 жыл бұрын
Luke Holland it is a relatively worse play for the lower skilled players. because they have a higher chance to whiff on those aggressive pushes. can't believe you read his entire comment and missed the point he was making. which is pretty accurate btw
@MrJefferary10008 жыл бұрын
No, missing a shot or conversely hitting a shot does not make a play worse or better. I did read what he said, but a play being good or bad is independent of player skill. Take for example if you make an objectively bad play, but you hit the shot and get the kill any way, getting lucky and hitting the shot does not make that bad play a good play. In the same way that making a good play and missing the shot doesn't make that good play a bad play. Good plays are good plays and bad are bad regardless of player skill.
@bacim19948 жыл бұрын
I said "in spots that are good but require you to hit every shot.". If you play aggressive short on d2 with an awp. That's a great play - if you can pull it off. A high ranked player who can hit that shot time after time should always make that play if he can. But maybe it's better to teach low ranked players who don't hit shots like that and just end up dead and leave the CT's with 1 less player to play more passively on site. It still a great play but it's not what you should be teaching players who barely hit an elephant rushing site. You should teach them to hold their angles and be in positions where if they fail their shot it doesn't equal death. What WarOwl is saying to that kid that obviously will not hit shots 9/10 if you watch him play is to play f.e. closer to coils or play on site that way if he misses that shot he can retreat and still be of some use to his team. Right now he re-peaks and I can tell you as a rifler just like what happened in that clip if you miss your awp shot and repeak me you are dead 10/10. You missed your shot? take the 'L' and get out of there.

This is a really interesting idea. I'd hope to see more like this. But here's what I think about that play. You guys are pro players, you're all coordinated, you know what roles are and what to do. What I think WarOwl talked about was how to play that spot individually without any help from your teammates. I don't have much experience with CS, I'm only a thousand hours in and I'm pretty low ranked, and with 1000+ hours of playing matchmaking in low ranks, I can say a lot of players around my skill level don't know what they're doing, including myself. But I do agree on both you and WarOwl's POV on how to approach this kind of situation. I would never pull out a nade myself but I would've stayed scoped in to the side of the forklift position. But I do think that if he missed the first shot and immediate pulls out a smoke to smoke himself off, then he could've gotten away pretty easily before the T could've peeked. Either way, I may not even be correct at all about this, like I said, I don't have as much experience as you guys, you're all cs veterans but this is my opinion.

@thecrookedmailman71118 жыл бұрын
I think the biggest thing WO tries to teach is that playing safe is always the better option. All of those suggestions he made are very SAFE plays, assuming neither player is aggressive. He tries to teach that playing safe and putting yourself in a better situation is better than just trying to rely on your individual skill. I think higher level players have a better sense of how good their opponents are, strengths and weaknesses against the players own. This causes for higher level players recommend crouch peaking to take advantage of the position he was in, which would expose himself to immediate threat, instead of trying to reset the situation for his advantage by smoking himself out.

There is always a 'best' course of action which has the highest percentage to win the match. The closer you stick to that course, the more matches you will win. However, the there is a difference between single round (short term) and match (long term) plans. Simple example: eco rounds. Force buying every round increases your chance to win that single round, but it decreases your chance to win entire match. There is also execution factor like Dazed said in the video. Failing to execute a plan that works 9/10 times still means that its a good plan. Succeeding to execute a plan that works 1/10 times still means that its a bad plan.

You should collaborate on a matchmaking academy with WarOwl for an episode 1) You give the episode a pro spin, get your pro insight across to his many viewers maybe engage some of them 2) bigger channel more exposure for you 3) Even help WarOwl's understanding of the game as you work together It's a win-win for both sides, get in contact I'm sure it'd make for an interesting episode.

Excellent video. You understand that criticising someone doesn't have to be a personal attack.

i like this idea, maybe take it a step further and do your own opinion video on matches or other demos like before?.. would enjoy watching that as well, but all in all great video man

I respect you for not shitting all over Warowl and rather, just gave your opinion on how this player could improve from your perspective. Good on you

Warowl's idea is to be more passive and Dazed's idea is to be more aggressive.
