Zappa was a stone cold musical genius. "Hot Rats" and "Overnight Sensation" are masterpieces. Thanks so much for covering this today and teaching so many about the late, great Frank Zappa. I am the one who commented on your awesome Zappa shirt when you went live a couple of days ago. Well done as always, Jordan.

"The person who stands up and says, 'This is stupid,' either is asked to 'behave' or, worse, is greeted with a cheerful 'Yes, we know! Isn't it terrific!'" ~FZ .. so prescient, and he's been gone 25 years now. In SO many ways, the man was ahead of the times.

The Zappa family moved to California when Frank was 3 years old - Frank Zappa was born in Baltimore County in a Area called Middlesex which is next to Essex my home town located 8 miles East of Baltimore City. Franks father worked for the U.S government at Aberdeen Proven grounds in Maryland as a chemical engineer developing biological / chemical weapons like Saran / mustard gas / Agent orange - That's where the D.C goverment stores it's chemical weapons in drum containers . Aberdeen proven grounds. I visited as I child -- they also store a lot of WWII German artillery there that you can see as a tourist - Close to D.C and the Chesapeake bay where that chemical factory is . As far I know - Frank's father continued his Chemical work with the goverment in California.

You should do a vid on Johnny guitar Watson, that guy was a mystery to me, and i had no idea that he influenced zappa like he did, and many other bluesmen, his song telephone bill is like the first rap song ever, and his song space guitar in 1954!! was so ahead of his time, and the fact i had never zeroed in on him seemed Mandela effect ish because i had heard of him but never payed any attention or mind, but when i got older and checked out his body of work, i understood why Frank zappa said he is the reason he became a musician/guitarist!!!

Hey Jordan!! This was such an interesting vlog. I really enjoyed learning the history of Frank Zappa. I actually did not know who he was. I always learn so much by watching your vlogs you always do a lot of great research on the topics. I teared up at the end watching you tell Jah bye. I know you will miss him. I hope you have a wonderful trip.

Awwwww -- you made me cry -- I HATE leaving my baby (Barney) -- he gets in my suitcase when I am trying to pack. That makes me so sad. They SO KNOW when something is happening. They are so smart. He loves you so much! But, the Jahster is in good hands with Breck! SAFE TRAVELS tomorrow!!!!! Honestly, I have never had any interest in Frank Zappa, but I am definitely going to check him out. It's sad that people are judged by their clothes, hair, or by the fact that they are "different" ... who is to say what is different.

Well that, was sad for me. Jah knew something was up. He felt your feelings of sadness. They know. I felt your feelings. I can hear it in your voice. I love Jah! Great vlog on Zappa. Didn't know anything about him. Have a great trip and be safe!! Peace to you and Jah!! ❤❤🐾🐾

its telling to me how "they" tried to oust him , under a trumped up entrapment based charge , then he spent the rest of his career taking shots at these same types of people , in the subject matter of all his lyrics . that chimey sweep story is great and i will be retelling that one , so thank you - great great great video . i read franks book and i was just telling my wife this story a few days ago . i swear this computer is listening .

Great story, but some of your information is incorrect. The actual studio was across the street where the shopping center is now located. The building you're claiming to be the studio was the hardware store. The little white extension was the municipal court house. I know this because I grew up about a half mile away. When Zappa was there, the drug store was right next door. I was about 5 or 6 years old at the time, my father would tell me to stay away from the studio, " weird things go on in that place!" Make me laugh now to know the real history, and one of my heroes was actually part of it.

There's a wonderful book that I bought many years ago, The Movielover's Guide to New York (also one for Hollywood, which you may be familiar with). We used this to explore nyc & environs since forever and it's a fabulous resource. If you're interested, I'll send you a copy of the book. Even if you don't have plans to vlog here anytime soon, this book may whet your appetite and inspire you to do so. Let me know if this book would interest you and if so, to where I should mail it.

I wonder how in the world they were going to make the conspiracy charge federal? That would require a federal law be violated requiring usually that you either committed the crime on federal land, in a federal building, against a federal employee, or of course that the crime involved multiple state jurisdictions. Also wonder what other events or persons Gail had Frank leave put of his book and interviews etc...She was a real control freak which is odd because she tolerated the extreme infidelity for so many years lol...oh well.
