Hey Jordan. Look up that store The House of Bijan. I know at one point it was the most expensive store in the world, and patrons are only allowed to enter by invitation only. That store has a $30,000 pair of socks.
@galememeeof66885 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you clarified this. You didn't mention the name of the hotel so I looked up where Whitney died and assumed this was the Hilton. It didn't look like a chain hotel so glad to know it's the Wilshire. Thanks for the vlog. You made it very interesting, as always.

The statue of the Diving Girl wearing the red bathing suit used to be the logo for Jantzen Company that was based in Portland, Oregon. The company started out as a knitting mill and manufactured swim suits. The well known graceful Diving Girl became their logo in the late 1920’s/early 1930’s. I recognized it as it was also used for Jantzen Beach Amusement Park that operated from 1928 to 1971 on Hayden Island in north Portland. I collect historical memorabilia and artifacts from long gone amusement parks in the Pacific Northwest. Thanks for this vlog! I was always curious as to what Rodeo Drive looked like. Not much different from clips I’ve seen from movies, TV shows, and videos.

Jordan, that was NOT the most boring vlog you've ever done! I've never seen a boring one, but I have to admit there are a few I haven't completed, because they didn't hold my interest as much as they should, but only because of the subject of the material, NOT IN ANY WAY in how you've done them. You are extremely good at showing us so much. The flowers, scenery, houses and walking the streets like in this one. I love it. It's like we're there too, so don't ever think that any vlog might be boring, because there are always people who have interests in what you're showing that day. If it interested you, then it surely interests some of us! Thank you for my walk down Rodeo Drive.

There's another biker, but a famous one, who frequently rode her bicycle all over the place there. Doris Day. She lived just a short distance from downtown Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive. She would walk her bike around the area and when she went into a store she would leave her bike parked in front of it. What a patron wouldn't you say?!

273 is Fred’s famous perfume, named after his Rodeo Drive address. He was one of the first to own property there & 273 was his way of honouring that place. Fred passed on several years ago but his classy & elegant style is still here. He was always approachable & I remember many interesting conversations about Hollywood in it’s hay day that Fred talked to his customers, if you were ever lucky enough to be shopping there when he’d be there. A real Hollywood character & the American dream. AND his 273 smells luscious.

Personally I loved what u did here. This is exactly Hollywood. Both old and new. I was noticing the condo building behind the weather vane u showed in the end and that is a shot shown a few times in 2011 in the reality show Tia and Tamara. Don’t know but looks like one of the establishing shots of Tamara’s condo that she sold. Very few condos with that paint effect in that area. Anyway great job. I loved it.

While Rodeo Drive in California stretches for about 2 miles, most of the fine shopping is centered within a 2 block area. Fifth Ave. in New York City has fine shopping from 60th Street to 39th Street, a distance of 6.8 miles,filled with the world's finest multi leveled stores.

That would be a street just to walk down to see the designs of the different buildings. Different things to catch your eye so that you come into their store. Also the Beverly Wilshire Hotel is so pretty. I like hotels that have history (especially old Hollywood history).

Hey Jordan, long time subscriber Dale Andrews here. Once back in 1980 (I'm 70, now BTW), I took a trip to L.A. just to check out the scenery and dropped into a little bar on Rodeo Drive. Apparently it isn't there anymore. I met some people from the Carmel area, they liked me, and I liked them, and we had an interesting long (about 2-3 hours) chat where we swapped information and had a good little visit and got mildly plastered! It was in the afternoon as I recall. I even took some pictures with them that unfortunately got lost in a house fire a few years ago. I will always remember our visit and what interesting people they were.

I enjoyed this vlog. Rodeo Drive is almost like I pictured it. I think I always imagined it with rich, dressed up people walking into the stores but the expensive cars made up for the people in everyday dress. The statue of the diver at the end of the vlog looked like it came from a roadside Motel back in the 50-60's when family road trips went on the highway rather than the interstate. She might have been advertising the fact there was a pool or she could have been high diving into the pool from the Motel sign. The good old days!
