Elvis was in my uncle's Army unit. He was a grizzly, tough master sergeant who had to ask Elvis to pose with him in a photo for his 2 teenage daughters. He hated to bring himself to ask a lowly Private for a favor but can you imagine him coming home empty handed to 2 adolescent girls. That was probably the only thing he was ever scared of.

Great story. Good on your uncle. I read 2 detailed accounts from two of Elvis's superior officers, one of them a colonel, both of them said that when Elvis was enlisted and they knew he would be sent to their unit, they expected a cocky, arrogant Superstar to show up and be difficult to deal with. But they both said they were happy to end up being wrong in their assumptions. Elvis was a class act, very humble, never complained and was a hard worker earning the respect of just about everyone that served with him. Have heard others that served with Elvis pretty much say the same thing. It was good to learn these things. I have to respect Elvis for his integrity.

I was side man to Elvis in the movie "Double Trouble" in fact I am on the cover of the DVD with Elvis...I am the guy with the guitar and black hair and the blond guy is Don our drummer in the band. It was great fun to be on stage with Elvis. He was very gracious and kind to us despite being so very busy. Needless to say it was the experience of a life time.

I’ve understood that it was Elvis’s Dad Vernon, that filed everything. Kept great records. Never threw anything a way. That the attic in Graceland held anything replaced. If Elvis purchased new table lamps the old one’s went to the attic and so-on.

I’m a big Elvis fan!!! I’ve been to Graceland 11 times since the first week it opened in. 1982. I have a pic of me and my sister sitting in the pink Jeep he drove in movie Blue Hawaii. My moms best friend got a scarf and a kiss from him when he came to Alabama. One of my friends had his picture made shaking his hand on the train when he came through Decatur, Alabama. I had the privilege of meeting Charlie Hodge who told me so many Elvis stories as well as giving me a ride in the green Cadillac he has that belonged to Elvis. It was one of several cadillacs that he got into after getting off stage in the 70s. I got to go to his house twice and spend the day with him and his mother before she passed away! Charlie is buried in my hometown. I felt like I got a feel of Elvis life from Charlie although I would’ve given anything to meet him! He said Elvis would’ve loved you!! Thanks for this video as I never get tired of looking at Graceland!

Elvis Presley was a great American Patriot. He could have quite easily dodged the Army to continue his career but he gambled it to serve his country! What young man onto international stardom and fame would risk it all to sacrifrise nearly 2 years of his young life for his country? I can only think of one.......Elvis Aaron Presley! 1977 was a year to never forget for as long as anyone will ever live. Of course we lost the King Elvis Presley and also lost was an one of the most iconic movie legends the world had ever seen dating as far back as 1930 when the "Duke" John Wayne lost his battle with stomach cancer. I was at the ripe age of 13 and too young to feel the pain that my older siblings endured especially my beloved grandmother, my fathers mother. when her son, and my father had also perished. I knew eventually I would sadly feel the loss and pain of losing my father as I got older, because I started to remember a lot of father, son times that were recorded in my head but never reviewed and played until people, places and things would just unleash the sad and painful memories that made me live a depressing, sorrowful lonely life throughout my 55 years in this fragile world we live in. My grandmother loved her son immensely and she took the loss very hard, but she also took the passing of Elvis very hard as well because she adored him so much. My father passed in june 17th 1977 and Elvis left the building never to return in Aug 16th 1977 just 2 months apart. What a year to never forget. RIP Dad,Elvis and The Duke🙏🙏🙏

I was Elvis' left boot for the comback special in fact you can see me in that photo where hes in full lean 10:32 Good times he was a great man and always kept his foot clean for me I'll never forget the opportunity he gave me to shine thanks El I remember the day he died me and all of Elvis' other boots and shoes all got together for a celebration of his life Tears were shed Laughs were had and Memories were shared it was the first time in a long time that I had seen the right boot of the comback special and we just burst into tears when we saw each other Elvis was a good man and an even better boot wearer Thanks again El

Everything you've shown us so far, for Elvis has been great. But this, seeing all of his clothes from all of his movies and the 68 Special, I'm choked up and I'm not even standing there. Just wow Jordan. I kid you not. Thank you. I did not know about this and it's over the top. I've got tears on my face. I'm so happy they preserved all of this. It's humbling.

I'm amazed they still have the TV that got shot up. LOL... Thought he would have thrown it away afterwards. I guess Elvis, having grown up poor, kept everything including the first bicycle his mother bought him. The bike was restored and stands in the entrance of the museum. The staff got lucky: the store that sold it to his mother still existed so they were able to find old color pictures of it and match the paint. It was then sent to a bike repair shop to be meticulously restored. Due to its age, some of its parts had to be replaced with spares. The only thing different about it is the lack of fenders. Elvis loved to modify and and soup up mechanical things so he took the fenders off.
