I found an interview that rick nielsen himself is an investor in the casino. I should have assumed, but wasnt sure at the time, but he said it was a good opportunity for creating jobs in Rockford.

You are getting a metra. Rockford is about to explode. There are a lot of abandoned places there. I heard so many stories about Rockford in it's hey day. To me, it seem like any other rural town in Illinois.

@@DazewithJordantheLion Funny story, I always had heard about a beautiful lane that goes through the woods in the middle of Rockford and that Rick Nielsen lives on. One day I drove up the lane I think it dead ended but I turned around to go back the way I came in. There was Rick standing at his mailbox shuffling through his small stack of mail and he smiled and tipped his hat at me! Even though he’s a local here I’ve personally maybe laid eyes on him 3 times now.

Thanks for checking out my home state again. I saw Cheap Trick on the Dream Police tour in 1980 and a year later as well. Virgil Abloh, the fashion designer, was from Rockford as well. He left us way too soon. Saw Joe Walsh last year with the Eagles. Great concert.

Years ago when Nashville had the Opryland Theme Park, Cheap Trick performed. I had to guard the band from the crowd before and after the show! So cool.

Way cool! My wife wanted to see Cheap Trick for her birthday last year so I bought tickets. They were playing about a 1/2 mile from our house, I have to say they were super awesome and sounded just like they did 40 years ago! They each took a turn talking to the crowd throughout the concert and were genuinely great guys. The best thing is just watching them and they were still actually having fun paying and not just going through the motions....and yes, Rick did play a five neck! It was great!

I remember having a Cheap Trick t-shirt in High school and a teacher made me turn it inside out!! She said it was inappropriate not knowing or caring it was a band!! My favorite band and I wish I still had it!!!!

Hey Jordan, the headstock on the Les Paul is from the Gibson Explorer. Aldo Nova has one also. The Batman and Joker guitars are by John Bolin and are featured on an episode of Pawn Stars. I'm from Illinois and love Cheap Trick. Cool video.

Bun E. Carlos had back issues from years of playing and touring. He ended up having back surgery. Yes, he was counting on returning, but because he had just gotten surgery, he told his fellow bandmates that he would be limited as far as the duration of their shows. He told them that he could possibly do an hour and a half show but nothing longer than that because it would gravitate his back. The other band members didn't want to compromise, so he was going to quit when his lawyer told him not to quit the band and that he could still benefit from being a member. So basically, from what I understand, he can still get paid as a member even if he doesn't perform with them, and I think that may be a reason why the others may have issues when him, but I'm not really sure if they still have bad blood between them. Bun E. Carlos has released music, so he can still play, but he just can't do no 2 1/2 to 3 hr shows anymore.

Hello Jordan thank you for posting this video I am a long time number one cheap trick fan I'm hoping someday to go up there tobacco casino museum I have met Rick Robin Tom and Bun. They are all great guys and well-deserved I have had chats with bun he really does not like to talk about Robin because they had a falling out I am being respectful by telling you this it really is a shame I hope someday they can reconcile. Robin and Bun (Brad Carlson) just didn't get along, and that's that. Bun had back problems and didn't wanna tour or play longer sets, etc. That's pretty much it.

As you know being a Kiss fan also....and you being friends with Eric Singer Cheap Trick is good friends with them . They used to open up for them back in the 70s. Rick played on Gene's 1978 solo record.

Did you know that Nancy Wilson (of Heart) was in Fast Times at Ridgemont High? She was the beautiful woman in the car that pulled up beside Brad (Judge Reinhold) at the intersection while wearing the pirate costume. Not exactly how this comment came to mind, but, this video was great. I did not realize the scope of Rick Nielsons guitar collection. He was also in a band called Fuse before Cheap Trick... on Epic records. Saw a show/promo poster briefly in the video... anyways, again... Great video!
