Virginia Rappe is buried in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery that you go to. She has a grave with a small headstone. That was one of my favorite stories about Roscoe Fatty Arbuckle. I have read about Hearst and Arbuckle, and that is one sad story. I awlays wondered if the hotel was still standing there. I like the Victorian architecture there. I am also a big Tony Bennett fan and have seen him three times in Missouri and Iowa in concert. Cool stuff.

I made my first trip out to CA this past May to visit a friend that lives up the foothills into Napa Valley. We spent a whole day in San Francisco....and Lombard was a fun time going down with her car. What a great day we had. Can't believe we were so close to the Mrs. Doubtfire house....dang, I remember seeing Steiner street.

Dude, Filbert street was next to Lombard. Thats where the chase started with the big jump. I know because my great aunt owned an apartment building on it. Was once the Guiness World record for the Steepest street.. I will ever remember the majestic view of Coit Tower and Alcatraz from her sun room. Such a civilized time. Thanks for sharing and keep on rocking in the free world. Aloha

As always your vlogs never disappoint, Jordan. Amazing tour with great narratives to match. My husband & I love going to San Francisco. We went once in our 5.0 1989 Burgundy stick shift Mustang. Too many hills but driving down Lombard’s crooked street was fun. We took our chihuahua with us once. She wasn’t too happy with the cold weather and neither were we. But we did see Tim Burton at Ghirardelli square staring at our dog from a distance as if he saw a ghost. We later read a couple of months later that his brindled chihuahua had died and that experience led him to do the movie “Coco” about a boy and his chihuahua. I wish he would have approached me sitting at the table in the cold so he could at least pet my dog for comfort but he probably would have attracted a crowd and wanted to remain anonymous. When my husband came back with the goodies he bought I told him Tim Burton was staring at our dog, that’s when Tim Burton slowly walked away with a sad expression on his face. Our precious “little girl”is no longer with us but that memory in San Francisco lives on. ❤️🙏🏻🌈

Al Jolson died in the same room that the Roscoe Arbuckle scandle happened several years later. I’ve stayed at the St Francis a couple of time and they play a video of the history of the hotel on one of their channels on loop. They definitely don’t hide the stories, which is great for anybody who wants to learn about it.

That third house on the corner with the winding stairs was my doctors house. The stairway down the street is Altamira Park, there’s a famous scene in “Whats up Doc? In the movie they damaged the stairs in the car chase. The production had to pay a big fine and since then the City is a lot more careful about allowing film crews to shoot whatever they want.

I realize you are limited with time & funds... but I am thrilled to see some of the sites I got to view with my Parents back in 1971, I was 17 & it was killing me to not be able to walk amongst the Masses, lifestyles so varied from the "Dull" daily life of upper-mid-middle class, the Super Steep Streets, the 8 Switchback /Hairpin turns,& The Painted Sisters are still in my Best Memories... I seriously considered Running Away right there & then, Bit I didn't, I was The family Rebel,& a GOODY TWO SHOES (odd combination I know) but I waited till I was out of School & of Legal age before I really "LET MY FREAK FLAG FLY" ...But still a Goody Two Shoes... I moved to Boulder, Colorado, ... Almost San Francisco, But not as big... ;) Again, Thank you, "Keep On, Keeping On"... Jordan

I lived in one of the seven sister houses in 1966. They were all built about 1892-96 therefore they’re all Victorian. It’s true Matthew Kavanaugh built (all) of them. He was not The architect, he was a carpenter. The grandest of the seven. It’s much larger and has a ball room downstairs. He built the 6 houses as a rental units to afford the rent and servants for his own house. This was a common practice them; as Redwood was pleny and abundant and labor also was cheap. It’s called the Shannan/ Kavenaugh because Michael Shannon bought it in 1972, completely refurbished it and lived there until just a few years ago when he sold it for $4 million.
