Beautiful car. I've owned a '66 250SE Coupe for 30yrs. It's incredibly rotted underneath, and I'm guessing it came over as a gray market car from Germany. I love it dearly, but if I was smart, I'd cut it up and put it in a dumpster. I hope yours found a good home and remains well cared for!

Many years ago (certainly more than 40) I parked next to one of these at an airport. I noticed, and it struck me, that the rear seat was "bucket seats"' I didn't inspect closely enough to determine if they were actual "buckets" or simply shaped that way. I have never seen another. Was this an "option". I wasn't knowledgeable enough to check the trunk as to the exact model.

There was a bucket seat option. Very rare. It may have only been in the W112 "300SE" model, which had a chrome trim strip down the sides, chrome wheel arch covers, the big 300cc straight six engine like what was used in the 300SL, but not laid at an angle, and maybe other, more elegant mods. The standard W111 body coupes just had a bench seat in the back.
