After 2 weeks of re-renders, and re-edits, FINALLY I can showcase to you our review of Addams Family 2. As is the running gag with TERRIBLE movies, they are incredibly wound tight for copyright claims on KZbin. But after 55 versions, we're in the clear. And it is dreadful of course it is. From corporate swallowing IPs to boring camera work. An uninspired plot and a lot of time wasting. This is the pits of creative integrity. This is The TERRIBLE Addams Family 2....

I am so very done with this edit. This is version 75. TERRIBLE as this movie may be, it is copyright covered head to toe. Never before have I been pinged for playing just 4 seconds at a time. So if the visuals look weirdly scuffled, blame it all on KZbin. At the VERY least, we've gotten through just in time for Halloween...

@@Chloe4656. To be fair almost every version of Addams family changed something. The comics to the Original TV show was very different from what I understand. The TV show had more of a focus on the adults to be honest and both kids were generally equal in screen time. The movies were darker, and a bit more focus on the kids with Wensday being more dominate. I don't' entirely like these remakes, but at least they reminded people the franchise existed after almost a decade or two of silence.

I had a lot of doubts it was possible to do well. At least CGI avoided bad casting for the most part. But the first movie was held back massively because it had to be "kid friendly" but Addams family some how. Kind of reminds of of the old Addams family cartoons I saw a few clips of, I think they were made by the same people that made the Flintstones? The first remake though I thought was god awful because it tried way to hard to put "modern problems" into the movie with smart phones, school drama etc. I felt at least the was a kid adopted idea fit better. Though like others I think Puglsy thinking he was adopted would work better as Wednesday is a carbon copy of her mother for the most part. I think the main plot of the second remake could of worked, just had too many stupid moments in there like Lurch singing, Thing wearing a stupid watch and so on.

@@jonarihernandez9522 I don't know how Dazz (and many people in the comments) got this wrong. "Handed down from Addams woman to Addams woman" does not imply or claim that she was *born* an Addams nor does it imply it was her *mother* that gave it to her. The Addams woman before Morticia would've been Grandma Addams and she would've given it to her newly wedded in daughter, now legally an Addams by marriage. It happens all the time in real life with heirloom rings and other things. If the family doesn't have a daughter/son depending on the custom, they give it to the spouse to continue the tradition further.

It could of been such a fun story, if we have to use the road trip concept it would of been so cool to see the Adams go to place like Salem and Mortica talk about how some of her ancestors were burnt there with a fondness in her voice, or maybe they go to Pleasant Point West Virginia and visit cousin Moth Man, the writers could of put them literally anywhere but instead we just get all these basic locations

The concept had some really fun potential; one of the best scenes in the franchise is in Addams Family Values when Wednesday interrupts the Thanksgiving play to give a hilarious speech tearing up the "family-friendly" version of the brutal US history, and there are some many similar things they could have expanded on with a road trip; imagine the Addams visiting a southern plantation, Salem or Little Big horn and commenting on the brutality of those places whilst lamenting the bowdlerization of them, and we could have had the chance of some genuinely brave satire rather than trite cliches and awful pop-culture references.

I don't usually comment on YT videos but thank you for taking my health into consideration. Any creators who try their best to be sensitive to a fringe group they think may be viewing their content doesn't jut have my support anymore, but a whole new level of respect. More and more movies coming out in the past few years have amped up the flashing lights and stuff, so it's always super beneficial to have warnings and creators like you who painstakingly edit the video to not only include a warning but also try their best not to trigger anyone. ~ Thanks again, an epileptic
@Bonnie_Mairead

I always feel bad with people who have epilepsy like you, as one of my cousins also has really bad epilepsy and can't watch anything with flashing lights. My cousin actually loves Disney movies (a lot) and wanted to see Encanto when it came out, but couldn't because it had an epilepsy warning. I think during a dance scene? As a person without epilepsy, I can't stand bright strobing lights that flash like crazy, so I never really understand why movies and such put them in. Like, if people that aren't going to involuntarily go into a state of seizure don't like them either, then what's the point? They're not pleasant to anyone? Never understood that. Anyways, my heart goes to to you because hearing about it from my cousin a lot I have an inkling of an idea of just how terrible it is, especially since I've seen a lot of productions come out recently with flashing lights, they are a steadily increasing amount of productions. Hope you're well though, and have a nice day!!!

What bothers me most is this movie has none of the look or aesthetic that makes the Addams family iconic. People love that family for their love of all things Gothic macabre. They have a style to them and their surrounding. Yet this movie just seems like they had a bunch of generic 3D animated assets already done, and just plopped the Addams family in it. And I get it can help them stand out more. But wouldn't it have been way more interesting visually to see them vacation at places that fit their style? Hell you could even have a cheeky dig at disney, have them go to Florida because they heard of this "haunted mansion with a rat" and are unimpressed. So they go seek real spooks.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't their whole deal is that they are considered strange by normal people and don't really conform to what normies do? My understanding was they they tended to lean into strange territory for family stuff, so they wouldn't be caught dead at any of the normal touristy locations shown here and would more likely travel the more esoteric locations that lean into horror or the macabre. I.E. they would rather end up at an abandoned sanitarium due to it's nature of being spooky and not go to Niagra Falls or the Grand Canyon.
@williaml840
@williaml840 10 ай бұрын
Depends on the version, with the 1991 version you'd be right. In the 1964 version, while they were strange - they didn't realize it. They'd consider their stuff equally as normal as everyone else's - they'd just do normal stuff in a way that would make it weird. They'd absolutely go on vacations to normal places - they'd just make it weird by talking way too much about how many people died falling down Niagra Falls or something(though they were also a little less morbid in that version so there's a good chance they'd make it weird in a different way).

Idk about anyone else but I was actually upset when there was an equal prize for everyone, it's totally fine if you tell the kids they're all getting a prize, if it's a competition that the winner is chosen by one person's opinion, or if everyone gets something but the winner's is better, but when you tell the kids that the winner will get a prize, the kid can tell that they won (like it's something based on points), and then you give everyone the exact same thing it's very de-moralizing. Why try harder if even those who put in way less effort will receive the same reward and praise? And I get that's how the real world is sometimes but we really don't need to start that with kids. I'm not against participation awards, just lying to kids about it.

The Addams Family is such a microcosm of the state of modern Hollyweird. An original TV show, based on a comic strip, that was genuinely bizarre and wonderful, followed by two fantastically amazing movies. But then literally every use of the IP after that is tainted, recycled, clichéd, tripe.

the movie made wednesday adopted and is a scientist's daughter, which makes no sense, they could make pugsley an adopted kid, since his hair is orange or blond.

I'll never understand people's hatred or contempt for participation awards. Maybe it's because I'm very easy to please, or maybe it's because I was never a competitive person, but if I go to a competition that's not, you know, a big deal (like a small school science fair or something) I'll be more than happy to get something to show that, heck, at least I took part in it! I recently "ran" a quarter marathon (and pretty much came dead last) and was given a very simple medal for taking part in it, and it made me very happy. It's proof that hey, I was last but I ran the whole thing so it must be worth something! And it's a nice memento to remember something fun i did. I dunno, it's just how I see it. Maybe I'm just too nice and want everyone to feel valued no matter how good or bad they did lol

I remember seeing this in theaters with my family. Did I want to go? No. Was I forced to go? Yes. Lemma tell ya, right after I left the theater, I forgot 70% of the movie. It's just boring and actual bull, I don't think anyone was fooled by the "ooooo she's not an Addams" plot. It's just a poorly written cash grab and a boring movie.

I like the first film. Cliche but, simple. I like it's message of how it was okay to be different that they learned. This movie tears into that simplicity by having Wednesday learning absolutely nothing right out the gate.... Plus, the first film's Wednesday was like the source material. The ambassador of Addams Family to the Normie world. She also reminded me of the 90's animated Wednesday too. Quiet, creepy yet sweet with nothing to prove with a slow burn like the 60's Wednesday too. The moody Wednesday was cool for the 90's films but, she never left that and abandoned any variation and character development to her character from then on until the Tim Burton series which was cool.

Dazz appears to be mostly left wing in his political beliefs(not to say there is something wrong with that) and that side of the political spectrum tends to be extremely cautious when referring to other people and their attributes. That’s from my observations anyway.

Honestly, all the terrible forced pop and rap songs in everything nowadays make me feel like I'm just too old for shows and movies that are coming out. And the bastardized versions of beloved themes are even worse. Also maybe it's an unpopular opinion but fucking hell, why is snoopdog in this movie at all, much less as one of more important family members... I get haha funny concept but why for the whole movie, tbh even a cameo like that would feel forced and out of place.

Every time the Addams Family goes on a road trip it never works out. and it could. There are good ideas here but its ruined by too many bad ideas and too many poorly aged Covid jokes. And too few returning characters. The best ones are left at home. I would like to reboot the franchise again until we get things right. and I also dislike the Netflix series So "right direction" is not that either. I think the best rule for movies is 1. don't make fun of current events 2. Don't make pop culture references 3. Don't change the characters from how you're used to seeing them 4. Don't explain jokes 5. Write all original music 6. Don't over do Adult jokes 7. Don't make charts 8. don't copy other movies who came out that year 9. keep masked characters in masks 10 Don't use Celebrity VAs Since you bring it up, Christmas movies and these range from odd to bad 1. Christmas is here again 2. Elf Bowling 3. I'll be Home For Christmas 4. All I want for Christmas is you 5. Santa Claus vs The Snowman 6. Santa Clause with Muckles 7. Santa Who? 8.The Christmas Toy 9. Maxine's Christmas Carrol 10 A wish for Wings that Work 11.The Magic Snowflake 12. Grandma got run over by a reindeer 13. The Multiple sequels to "A Christmas Stroy" 14 Elf on the Shelf 15. Jingle All the Way 2 16 . The Other Grinch movies 17 Jingle Jangle 18 Alien Xmas 19 The Year Without A Santa Claus 2006 20 The Miser Brothers Christmas 21 Jack Frost 22. Prancer Returns 23 Home Alone Sequels 24 Rapsittie Street Kids: Believe in Santa 25 Fred Clause 26 The Christmas Tree 27 Santa Claus vs the Martians 28 A Little Girl Who Did Not Believe in Santa Claus 1907 29 The Mirical on 34th Street remakes 30 Grumpy Cat 31 the many other Muppet Christmas movies that's one a day all months some weird, some bad, you decide. I bet at least one you never heard of before so start with that.

My family ADORED their first movie, but we had to literally force ourselves to finish the second one... Which took a few days but felt like the lesser of two evils after seeing how godawful the lastest Munsters movie was. I was struggling to figure out what the first movie did right & the second movie did wrong. I think a lot of the dumb "lol so random" visual gags (such as Fester wrestling with tentacles) they use to hold the attention span of 3-year-olds is one of the worst elements.
