On the flip side the problem with him as a suspect is that in the hijacking that he got busted for the next year everyone described him as basically a bumbling fool that got everything wrong, which is probably why it only took 2 days to catch him. The total opposite to how d.b cooper was described. Mccoy even left his hijacking documents (plans etc) in the boarding area of the airport. He was described as nervous and angry, very unlike d.b cooer. Also all the flight crew from the db cooper case were shown mccoy and they all said it wasn't him.
@garethtaylor14707 ай бұрын
This is all factually correct. Something I do not understand though is the reported physical abnormalities by three of the flight crew. Firstly Mucklow the stewardess who sat next to Cooper for several hours stated that she noticed he had a deep scar on the palm of his right hand and a weird welt on his chin (which I don’t see in any of the compositions. Finally, the male steward in his statement said that Cooper had a strange skin flap or skin tag on the back of his neck. These three injuries or physical abnormalities only match one suspect who amazingly has all three in the same places…..William J Smith. For me either it’s McCoy due to the tie and tie pin that his family identified as belonging to him and the witnesses were fooled by make up and glasses and many eye witness accounts are notoriously poor or incorrect due to stress and trauma reactions OR it’s William J Smith due to the physical match, his age at the time, the fact he was a smoker, known as a gentleman and he (for me at least) is the best match to the composite sketch of D.B cooper. The very first time I saw that photo of him (albeit 30-40 years older in that photo) the hairs on the back of my neck stood up, it was the eyes and the look that grabbed me. That was before I even learned about the physical abnormalities that matched him to the eye witness statements.

@@garethtaylor1470 It is McCoy. Dan Gryder solved it and even contacted DBs children. McCoy and his wife are masterminds at manipulation. Its pointless to look for someone by the name of DB Cooper. No one is going to give their real last name. His personality and physical traits were drastically altered as disguise, and it worked.

I enjoyed the video, but I will take the "DB Cooper" connection with a grain of salt. I have read and watched and followed the DB Cooper case many times. A group of independent researchers connected Cooper to having a Boeing connection plus other factors. I also remember reading about Dillinger (growing up in Indiana) and the police/authorities had dozens of bank ribberies they could not solve so they blamed Dillinger - robberies 100s of miles apart on the same day (no intertnet system back then!!). It was easy to blame a known criminal then admit defeat. The FBI could not solve DB Cooper but could solve McCoy and he was killed. Easier to blame a known individual then have the cloud over them on the Cooper file. Just my one half Peso opinion - yours may be different

In my opinion I think it's pretty straightforward to figure out that DB Cooper wasn't Richard McCoy. As in my opinion is glaringly obvious that.the "real" Cooper had extremely little (or most likely zero) prior skydiving experience and absolutely no special military training. But I'll tell you what, If you don't believe me let's just compare the difference between the two known jumps. ***COOPER*** :Instead of requesting required/familiar equipment, he failed to specify the kind of parachutes he wanted from authorities and just left everything up to chance :He failed to dictate any specific flight path that he wanted the pilots to take and ensuring that they would fly over his jump point :He didn't have the appropriate clothing and/or equipment needed to protect him during his jump or to facilitate his trek out :He failed to check the weather report and/or he didn't care about the strong storm in the Pacific Northwest that was blowing in on the night of his jump Note* just this one point almost guarantees that Cooper had no military training because (and trust me on this) anybody with military experience that was planning a night jump on that date and subsequently found out there was a bloody storm blowing through would 100% scrub that mission and wait for a safer window! ***McCOY*** :brought his own equipment that was needed for him to be successful :He gave the specific flight information needed to take him to his designated jump point :By giving the pilot details instructions such as. "I want you to follow this airway". "I want you to fly in this configuration. "I want you to fly at this speed"... He categorically shows prior experience and knowledge. :By continuously asking for updates from the cockpit Such as the planes current location, the planes current direction and the planes current speed he was constantly getting the specific information he needed for the upcoming jump into his proposed drop zone. Note* Cooper had none of this viral information and was just YOLOing it I guess. 😳SMH PS Righty ho guys, after reading that are seriously still going to tell me that the same person made both those jumps?

If I was one of the personnel involved with the McCoy investigation, I would certainly have some doubt he would have to be the DB Cooper. That's because just like some plenty of other people, I think that guy probably was successful having a good large portion of the money that was never found (especially if it wasn't destroyed by water, mud, etc). Also, I believe the DB Cooper guy (if perhaps actually being successful with the 1971 event), wouldn't be pulling another stunt in just 4 months later. For the DB Cooper subject being smart as details from the case have shown what he did, tells me that he had more than enough intelligence realizing not to put himself in higher potential risk of being caught in the 1972 event just after over a few months from the 1971 case.

A private investigator/ aviation enthusiast named Dan Gryder investigated the DB Cooper case for years...and published his findings/ the story he uncovered in a two part video series over a year ago. The day he uploaded that investigative documentary over a year ago, fall of 2022, this case was solved, 100%. He absolutely gets 'top billing' for putting a fork in this case. A ton of federal law enforcement agencies had this puzzle completely solved in 1971/72 and lied to the American public for decades. It took Dan Gryder's work to finally blow the lid off this thing. My 2 cents anyways.

As far as weather is concerned back then civilians were not privy to the same weather reports that pilots were. Local news probably didn’t have access to Doppler radar in those days. In my opinion I think it's pretty straight forward to figure out that DB Cooper wasn't Richard McCoy.

Cooper must've been a reletive of the Hatfields and a McCoy couldn't be outdone by the family

Just like the Discovery Channel way to much redundant repetition. HIGHLY INTELLIGENT PEOPLE can't stand repetition. Time for me to Unsubscribe. 😊
