dbtechnologies is one of the best companies I have ever seen, they worked hard over there designs, well built, to robust, easy to maintain, rugged. I like them.

Thanks for doing good reviews! These sort of reviews are very valuable and appreciated. If I could make a suggestion: The Smaart analysis section would be much more interesting if you used the transfer function rather than the RTA. Transfer function is the appropriate test for measuring a box against pink noise in Smart. This will give you more data as well, like the phase and impulse response. The resolution was also so high that the details of those box presets were mostly obscured. The high resolution information isn't really what you are after, you want the broader trends, IMHO. Try a transfer function with 2 sec averaging, 1/12 resolution, and an MTW FFT next time and you will get a much more interesting result.

me too, but those are a bit more costly to ship in to do videos, so you won't see that many compared to top boxes, etc. but we will see what we can do in the future.

Can you make a phase trace in an outdoor setting with the box on the ground (and the mic as well?) I'm very curious what the difference is between the phase of the K5 and T8's
@trinityprosound8 жыл бұрын
Sorry, we have sent the system on to higher ground...you can not use K5 with T8, they are not compatible sonically in their response and phasing.
@davevengelen8 жыл бұрын
dear, i know the systems are not compatible. But I was just wondering how the phase response of the cab was. So i could compare it to the T8 and T12 measurements I've already made.

Can you show the YORKVILLE LS801P inside and the YORKVILLE EF500P inside and the QSC K18 & K12 Thanks you very much...
@trinityprosound8 жыл бұрын
Yorkville would have to send us a speaker to review as well as QSC , most likley they will not do that.

This one or the RFC HDL10a? This system looks very nice but the subs go down only to 41hz. Even the double 18. Why is that? The older ones, the DVA S20 could reach 30hz with no problems.
@trinityprosound8 жыл бұрын
No it is a K5 from db Technologies, a replacement to the T4. For the subs, it is all in the numbers and how they are presented , The KS20 will go that low as well but most likely 6db down or more. Event the S20 could do that, but at a much lower level. I think they chose not to over spec the newer subs and get someones hopes up that the KS20 would do what a much larger and more powerful subwoofer is slated for. Many subs that state they can go that low will not last long at that frequency and the ones that will do it are going to be 3x the price of a KS20 sub.

Thank you for the reply :) Will you do a review on the VIO system in the future? It looks like the VIO system would be a great rival for the TTL system.At least on paper

Are they always on or can you leave them plugged in to a power source and then turn on/off as needed?
@trinityprosound6 жыл бұрын
They do not have a power switch on them, but yes, they can be setup for remote power or a long power cord to the first box, etc. or setup on a power sequencer with remote on/off - we have had speakers in various installs that get left on for months 24/7/365 with no issues.

we had the premier of the benelux and i didn't really liked it :/ we had s20 and stuff sold in our store previously but the k5 is like super good but the sub is really not my thing what did you think of the subs ?
@trinityprosound8 жыл бұрын
The K10 and K20 are good in this range for the price point they are...the S30 sub is amazing, though more expensive. as always more power and SPL is good and that is why the S30 is so popular . We had S20's and for the cost and functionality they did a good job, but the S30N was like having to S20's.

Is it better than the RCF HDL10A?
@trinityprosound6 жыл бұрын
the K5 is a 500 WRMS box that is 3 way, so a bit different that the HDL10A at 700WRMS. The K5 used all the same drivers and box as the T8, the amp and DSP is different as well as the grille. both speakers do a very good job when deployed 3+ per side, but, I like the sound of a 3 way box ....

cual es mejor el k5 o el t4 estoy por comprar pero no me decido.. el k5 tiene conexion a red para trabaja a distancia
@trinityprosound6 жыл бұрын
El T4 ya no está hecho, el K5 es el reemplazo, pero el K5 no tiene RDNET, el T8 sí lo tiene. Pero el K5 suena mejor que T4 - via google translate

The product seems serious, but there is no information relative to loudspeakers and their origin of manufacturing DB not making its own loudspeakers. Some professionals speak about the mark RCF and the information taken at RCF the factory confirms that loudspeakers RCF does not equip DB. What is the origin of manufacturing? Italy? Thank you very much for an information.
@trinityprosound7 жыл бұрын
Drivers are either RCF or AEB both from Italy. You are incorrect, in that many RCF speakers go into db tech products. DB has many OEM'd to their specifications. EAW has bought almost all their drivers from RCF over the years and does not make many of their drivers either.

He claps his hands on the body of loudspeakers and the body rumbles like a plastic box, which he is. Whatever the drivers did not put in a thin plastic, it will not sound without overtones of the plastic box.

True but with the dampening material inside it does help, but is inherent to composite or injection molded type assemblies.
