There's no more important position battle this offseason than what the Sooners will face at cornerback. They have some good options, but for the Sooners to take the next step toward an elite defense, Oklahoma will need to get significant improvement from the cornerback position.
Sooners earn commitment from 2026 tight end Ryder Mix. Oklahoma gets a big-time playmaker at the position as part of the 2026 recruiting class.

The D line is very important because if you have a good line then the QB doesn’t have time to make the best pass. Both positions are important

Oline will be the biggest position battle.

Defensive backfield has three returning starters (WW, GW, BB) that’s not including Peyton Bowen. They just need to figure out a few spots. Oline has one guy we know is starting and that’s the transfer Hickman. We can assume Big Sexy and Febechi but maybe not🤷‍♂️

Totally fair. Sexton, Hickman, Nwaiwu, and Taylor should all start. Then it’s a matter of figuring out if you’re better with Tarquin at Left Tackle or Ozaeta at Left Guard on how you deploy Sexton.

Disagree totally. Defensive line is was always will be most important. When we had great d line play we were a tough out 2001-2009. In those seasons we had some bad offenses 01 02 was sorta decent...05 06 09. Look at how we been since not having a decent D line. 2011 was OK 12 was meh 13 was decent 14...15 offense carried 16 holy crap it started getting bad but offense was insane 17 HORRIBLE LINE legendary offense 18 same but an even WORSE LINE. Do I need to continue? Lots of fans have blamed the secondary for years and years but stop fooling yourselves we have had 0 d line for 10 I REPEAT 10 years.....hopefully that trend has ended thus year.

I feel where you’re coming from here. I think part of the reason is that we have answers along the DLine. At Corner, is where there are question marks. But like you said, it all starts up front!

CANADY QUESTION if she doesn’t choose Oklahoma and get to play for Patty Gasso and get to playing loves Field where else would she go unless somebody like Missouri makes her offer so large she can’t go anywhere else at Oklahoma. The dynasty is in place to win number five or one for the thumb
