This was a maximally difficult match from the looks of it. I think these guys were simultaneously having fun and cursing Karl at the same time. Great content.

The best use for a Thermold magazine I have found is to cut the feed lips off, remove the spring and follower, and use it as a brass catcher for the range toy AR-57. 😄

Great group of people, honest self assesments. This should really inspire others, oh & the match was real cool too! Can you imagine a range that this was how it goes normally. Kind of like a golf course, kind of lol.

Nice work, Karl. And, after Ian and Bloke's initial jokes about it, I'm glad the AR 180 (18?) proved its worth. I note there were no problems with old school optics, either - unlike some others.

This looks like a fun kind of hurt. I shoot with irons almost entirely, at targets out to 600 yards, but mostly paper. Recently in the past few years, having access to steel targets now, it has become apparent how difficult these targets can be to see with the naked eye. Really see the benefit of LPVOs in this kind of environment. Good challenging match Karl, and good job everyone given the equipment.

Accuracy by volume is what he should have said. "fire for effect" means you have already walked the rounds into the target area and now you want to obliterate everything there. You are now firing for the effect of the attack. Before that you are firing to find your impact area and adjusting aim.

A well thought out torture during everybody is embracing the suck. One wee later and you are wondering how you can shorten this one year waiting time until you throw yourself into the next torture match. Human beings are weird sometimes. Nicely done and congrats to your survival with one mag for the historical garbage, sticking magazines, unkown rifles and optics and other stuff. You are great to watch and hopefully this inspires more matches with the same attitude not only regarding match design but also in coping with your own defeat.

Weird thought but when he misses the pistol shot and says Fuck! I wonder why he used the English word and didn't default to his native tongue.
@mikkoritala8932
@mikkoritala8932 3 жыл бұрын
We've got decades of exposure to American and British TV, movies and video games, plus many people use English as their working language. So it's actually surprisingly common for people under the age of 40 to use "shit" or "fuck" in their speech. I do that too when playing online with friends and I'm 44. :) Additionally, many words that are in common use are a mix of both languages. Those are commonly known as Anglisms or Finnglish. Basically an adoption of English words with a Finnish twist so that it would flow naturally with our language.
@FromMyXP
@FromMyXP 3 жыл бұрын
It's probably just that he had been speaking and hearing English the whole day and so was stuck in "English mode". Or maybe he's a bit like me and prefer to swear in other languages that his mother tongue. A good 'foreign' curse word does taste funnier sometime :)

If you are ambidextrous, are you disqualified from ''use weak hand'' stages?
@Incinerico
@Incinerico 3 жыл бұрын
Assuming you mean the question and weren't asking for a laugh, I'd imagine that most Ambidextrous shooters out there don't tend to practise both firing positions, so they'd still wind up as disadvantaged as left or right hand dominant shooters. As an aside, aren't true lefty-friendly guns quite limited and expensive, or has availability become good?

@michaels5210

I recognize it’s desert brutality not participation trophy. However I saw that the female shooter was having a PARTICULARLY difficult time with the sled drag and the kettle bell. Obviously not sure how many female shooters there are but I wonder how feasible it is for there to be a “weight class” thing for shooters under, say, 135 lbs or so to use different weight sleds/kettle bells. If it’s a Dumbass idea let me know but in my eyes it could open up this kinda competition to women/smaller shooters which is at the end of the day a great thing. That’s just an idea I’m curious what people think
