Good to know that Jimmy got to perform with other talented performers. I think of Jimmy when I first heard the early Bread songs. RIP.

Jimmy Griffin was a very talented songwriter/musician/singer. He actually won an oscar for his song For All We Know when he was only 26. I liked it very much when he joined forces with Coley & Sylvester. Thank you so much for posting this video.

Great performance from these legendary musicians. The great Jim Horn on the sax, great session player worked with The Wrecking Crew!

Impressive medley from these underrated guys. Must have been a great show on the road and sorry I missed it. These guys sing high don't they. History of "For All We Know" is most interesting. John Ford Coley a great musician too. Fun to see them involved with each others' repertoire - Griffen harmonising on Hollies for example. Nice sax too.

+Cindy Mizer Only sorry I didn't have the entire show. Terry gave me a tape that his publicist had made available and it was quite abbreviated. Thanks for commenting.

This all I've got unfortunately. I was given an agency demo tape of these clips badly chopped up onto VHS. I've edited them together as smoothly as possible. I think it's worked out nicely though

This must have been a great show, from the pieces that you have. Thanks for posting. I've been looking for Jimmy Griffin on KZbin & there is precious little. I really liked the songs he & Robb Royer (& Mike Botts on some) wrote with Bread. I don't have any way to play them right now except a couple on the "Best of" CD. Take Comfort, Truckin', Why (Do You Keep Me Waiting)...there was usually one of theirs on the flip side of the David Gates-written hit 45.

Terry Sylvester is a great singer, often wrongly in my opinion, overshadowed by Graham Nash who’s place he took in The Hollies.

This song (For All We Know) is beautiful. Jimmy was only married to Mikki for 4 months and he was 18 in 1961. Maybe it was a song written for a great movie which also included 2 other collaborators hired to write a song specific to a movie about a wedding. Jimmy wrote and sang great songs. Nothing has ever been stated that he wrote (with 2 other people I might add) a song about his ex-wife. Wish he were here to tell us. Hey Robb any input? Just heard Long cool woman in my car ! Great song
@ronclifford33364 жыл бұрын
He and Robb probably just wrote the lyrics to Fred's music for the movie, "Lovers and other strangers"? I think Petula Clark sung it in the movie even though The Carpenters had put it out as a single? I remember Bread Complete talking about he had a hard time getting credit for the song because he used a pen name when he wrote it, as did Robb. It said although James Griffin wrote it the Oscar was credited to Arthur James, his pen name. Probably the same with Robb as he used a pen name as well (Robb Wilson). Im assuming thats their first and middle names? A lot of writers use their first and middle names as pen names,or did back then anyway?

This is fantastic footage. Is there any more from this appearance on Primetime Country or any others of Soft Rock Cafe? Jimmy Griffin has such an amazing voice. Really enjoyed this footage. (5 stars)*****
