The last 30 seconds of the video made me want to comment because I believe it as well, 100%. DBD is such a low skill game by design, that a huge contributor as to why the survivor player base is "toxic" is because they majority of them aren't "good" at other genres of true competitive games, like FPS, RTS, or fighting games. They've essentially found the one title they can dominate, but not because it's fair & balanced and it's skill vs skill, but because the game can be abused due to the lack of proper balancing and the asymmetrical nature of the design. It's all about arbitrary advantages, that often times, is complete RNG.

That isn't difficulty. Solo is harder in perspective only because you don't basically have 80 free information perks without counter in swfs. If you get into the Goove of it Solo can be just as powerful as swf but that requires survivors actually using their kit.

I agree with the general premise that continuous predrops shouldn't be a valid strategy because it isn't skillful and lacks potential counterplay. I recently got complimented by a teammate for "running the killer for 3 gens", and I just said, "no, the pallet layout is busted", because on many maps, it's true. The killer misplayed by chasing me into multiple god pallets, but the chase didn't take much of any skill on my part, almost entirely just memorization (I learned busted setups mostly through Mr Tatorhead guides. The loop routes make you seem like better than you really are at looping, and he has a deep-dive on pretty much every map's imbalances). I think having god pallets as a truly LIMITED resource that you can only use 1 or 2 times each match would make the game far more interesting and skill expressive overall than it is now. You'd have to decide when the best time is to use the strongest tile, and the killer would have to decide whether there's value in using up additional time there.

I genuinely wonder what the game would be like if it wasn't about gens and escaping. Like imagine if the goal of the survivors were to trap the killer in that realm, and survivors who has done the objective but died could still win if the killer gets trapped. I mean, according to the lore, survivors are known to fight the entity. I think there would be more skill expression if they just removed gens lol

This title is something I discovered in my first hour of DBD years ago 😂 I remember how powerful I felt the moment I unlocked BBQ. “Dead time” gameplay of finding the next chase was completely eliminated. And let’s not talk about the first time one unlocks an anti-gen perk. Sadly the game has moved in all the wrong directions IMO and now a perk like BBQ (that was used mostly as “point earner” with a gameplay benefit) is nowhere to be found cause there are many perks who do the job but better!

They will not perform at all in another game, sometimes I play survivor with some people and they always rage when they get caught because this is the ONLY GAME that they can win, so the rage when even only one of the team gets caught that they just need to play brain gimnastics to keep on going with their lives... Today I have played a skull merchant game in autohaven and when I managed to get only 1 they wrote EZ and I was like: It better be, you put an offering on for the map, it's one of the most, if not the most, unbalanced map of the game and you still managed to lose one as a 4 people premade... Getting angry because you lost one in that particular circumstance just let me know that guy was screaming insults at the screen. It's always the dead ones that write the most. Also I have played autohaven with skull merchant 5 times today and I just decided to do something else now cause it's unbearable, I had to hit one guy like 6 times before I got to down him.... If you would take away like one or two perks out of them they would be utterly helpless, because as Tru3 said it's about how many advantages you can get over me to win, not that you're good at the game. People manage to fail to press E for the Dead Soft and they rage cause you expected it and waited for them to press it before striking them xD It's a no skill game by design and they sold it a lot because of it, it will never change and there will be matchups that for some killers if not for ANY killer are impossible to win or to even take a kill out of it. It's just the way it is and they know it, this is why they rage so much when you manage...

Lets be honest, if you cared about the fairness of a match you would be playing comp, in comp you play to maximize hook stages for ur team on a balanced enviornment where only skill matters, treating a public match for the win is the most stupid thing ever considering how unbalanced this game can be without proper restrictions.

@TrU3Ta1ent indeed, but you wont have to deal with multiple unfair perks, and you also have a 4man team playing with you, remember in comp you dont need to 4k, you need to win with your team, your survivor team needs to get a better result than the other killer, so not only you play a fair match where only skill matters with no stupid perks or items, but you actually have a win condition unlike normal dbd, where a win is 4k, in comp a win is based on who gets most hooks

Sometimes things aren't meant to be lore accurate. Imagine Kratos from GOW for example one shotting everything in the game because it's lore accurate. Would hurt the gameplay.

But I think it's ridiculous that some killers are just unplayable at top level whilst others can just ignore looping via teleporting or other means to the point where they are nerfed in comp or restricted.
