I have to make a quick correction on self care botany because it seems to be a common misconception. It's not 85%. It's 50% of the 35%. My friend didn't believe me on this so we actually went into customs with a timer. Self care on its own is 45.7 seconds. Self care botany is 30.5 seconds (1 and a half seconds faster than old selfcare alone). And for comparison, medkits are 24 seconds. And for the hell of it, self care desperate measures and botany is 27.9 to 22.2 seconds depending on how many are inured. Honestly, desperate measures is slept on, with a medkit you can heal in 21 to 15.3 seconds.

Yo. Good catch. Just did the test myself. I was really surprised by this. I thought this whole time the heal speed was around 20+ seconds lol. That being said, I still stand by the heal speed being reduced if you have infinite access to heals.

Whoops. Made a slight error. That 21.33 figure would be old self care with new botany. The actual figure is 24.06 so basically the same as a medkit

While in general I agree that the meta shakeup and gameplay changes were great, I can see the argument that gen kicking meta was born which was a very dull time, then later Knight and Skull Merchant were added to add the "downhill" philosophy Edit: Watching the video and that person seems to be complaining about very entitled things from survivor perspective

@@rickytoogood498 oh I know just cause gens at base are slower people don't realize they're faster cause of easy to use perks like Deja vu and prove and the use of toolboxes pretty much every match has gens faster than ever along with bhvr doing everything in their power to make it impossible for killers to make a comeback hopefully after all is said and done they'll realize why so much camping and tunneling happens and fix it but alot of people only play survivor and refuse to get better and want the devs to make it easy been more of a survivor main this last year and I barely play anymore cause survivor is so easy it gets boring fast

sometimes this person's tweets show up on my for you page and every time im just blown away by how unfathomably bad their takes are. and they never have any good proof or are able to properly backup their claims. i remember watching a vid of theres (forgot what they were talking about) and their sample size was 50 matches. that is barely anything, let alone to prove anything substantial about balance. so incredibly delusional

I joined dbd late 2018 and as a killer main it is boring going against squads running all those meta perks over and over too a point where I had too take a break for two years. Now it's much better. With people running different builds. And bully squads now being a past thing.

It’s funny because I know who this person is from when I was on twitter, and they’re actually very nice. I also didn’t agree with a lot of their takes, but they were always willing to have genuine discussion and even change their opinions/perspective on things sometimes And it’s not like they only play survivor, I know one of their main killers is Dredge which was also one of mine at the time so we used to chat about him a lot prior to me deactivating my account and uninstalling the app lol

From my perspective, the only thing 6.1 broke was he relationship between blade wipes and hook sabotage. It used to be that the killer could get one hit and then the survivor still got the sabo, because the survivor either had to bring a perk or an item and still gets downed on the second attack. That seems very fair. But with blade wipe reduction it changed to where the saboteur still goes down, but also does not get the sabo. So, post 6.1 all the killer had to do was swing to eliminate that perk or item, which feels unfair. I don't know maybe that's a hot take. However, the devs recently increased the speed on the Saboteur perk by 0.2s, so maybe I was right? Although, I don't know if that also affected the sabo speed for toolboxes, but those have speed add-ons so, whatever. Personally I also gave up playing killer for the most part (I still do tomes) because it felt so much easier and less satisfying. But I know that's totally subjective, and the game is in a much healthier place than it used to be, which benefits me too. Lastly, I just want to thank you for not using the r word to describe this person because in the case of this particular turkey that must've been like *sincerely* difficult.

Mostly agree with you. 6.1 was a great update for the health of game. I hope we get more of that. Dead hard alone was making killer unfun to play and all the basekit buffs were great. I especially love getting 8 stacks of stbfl on demo and nemesis. I disagree on the tunneling in the endgame part tho. While yes the killer should tunnel and camp (do anything possible for a kill) 6.1 brought a 5 second basekit bt which was laughable and made it easy to tunnel in the endgame. The way we have it now its fine with ten seconds bt. just wish it was 4 or 5 seconds again before the gates are powered. I didnt run selfcare before that update so i didnt care that they nerfed it just wish it wasnt 45 seconds to heal like now (68 with sloopy😵) Also i do know who that person is (wont say it) but they also have sadako (before the buff) and dredge as their mains too so there is that. I think this game is the most balanced its been. It only becomes miserable when the other side sweats more killer or survivor Would love to see you tackle other takes such as people saying old dead hard and old eruption being fine

I was gonna give them the benefit of the doubt that they might be some sort of entitled survivor player that looks back at old "run Billy for 5 gen" days and have never played killer before, but when it was revealed that for killer they exclusively play Blight with busted sht ... oh boy I felt a bit angry inside ngl. Ofc they are gonna say "survivor is bad now boo-hoo" when they never have to deal with normal (M1) killer pain to begin with and go easy mode.

The only bad take was taking Blight out of all the killers to make conclusions about the update. Most other things seemed valid to me, even though I disagree, doesn't mean takes are bad. Yeah, you can force the ds, but that's hardly worthy of time discussion. Perhaps, that person always plays the way, so he doesn't force it. Whatever, can't care less about echo chamber he lives in. Also, it's been already so long, I don't see any relevance to this. Gens are still flying, people are still tunneling, what's new?

Actually thinking old self care was good and needed to be nerfed is wild. The perk was only OK for good players that were in solo queue. The last time self care was good was back when it was worth it to cut yourself against old freddy lol.

Sooo I have mixed feelings about the 6.1.0 patch because it gave birth to the 6 months of the most BORING meta ever the gen kick meta they also released the two worst killers they ever designed the knight and skull merchant. I’ve been playing since almost release and that was the most unfun period this game has ever had. Like the new killer base kit buff took time to get use to but it didn’t take long. I also agree with them on the fact they haven’t changed STBFL with the basekit changes it’s like the killer already had 4 stacks (they can never lose) at all times putting another 8 stacks on top of that was to much. It should of been balanced for the new buffs. Buffing several gen kick perks which were fine by themselves but were totally ridiculous stacked with several of them was a bad idea especially after they just increased the gen times. DS nerf in my opinion was fine except they should of left it at 5 seconds for the stun. Since you are stuck on the killers shoulder for 1.2 seconds of the 3 seconds you get which means you’re getting 1.8 secs of distance like a regular hit BUT you don’t have the sprint burst to actually get distance. They are not wrong tho nothing discouraged tunneling like old ds. I think if they just buffed it back to the 5 second it would be fine after the actual amount of time you get for distance is 3.8 seconds. Don’t get me wrong I think behavior did make a bunch of really great changes in 6.1.0 but they also made some shitty ones that sucked a lot of fun out of the game.

Late to this video but how did anyone defend old DH?? She didn’t in her defense, but I still see some survivors defending it. New DH (post 6.1.0 until its second nerf) or even MFT, I get defending it. I would say you were completely wrong and I fundamentally disagreed with your position, but I get it. Defending the DH that zoomed you forward to the nearest pallet? And gave you true invincibility? How is that defensible lol. 6.1.0 had its misses but purely for giving DH a well deserved nerf, and for buffing killer basekit buffs so survivors couldn’t just W key the entire game away from any danger, it was an absolute win. Eruption was dumb tho lol, doubling the values of the perk was like… whyyyy
