Unfortunately, democracy itself seems to be the common denominator implicated in the Fall of The West. Democracy, Progressive Liberalism, Secularism marginalizing and replacing Christianity... if this is the case, The West Is Finished. The are two hopes - on is more dark - only authoritarian government, which would have to be 'right-wing and populist/nationalistic', have a prayer of preserving their native peoples and cultures. The other is complete return to Monarchy. Where the King is actually the Guardian of the Faith and Protector of The Lands.. our current system of progressive liberal democracies in The West is a 100%, Guaranteed, Slam Dunk for utter destruction. Europeans will be 'replaced', as is happening, Christianity 'replaced'... as is happening, and it will be lost.

Of course Brett Weinstein contributed. We all did. Not that long ago, for example, the Left was pleading for same-sex marriage. We all wanted to be good people, to be fair, and as supportive of others as we could be. Now we've got Pride Month in our schools beginning in elementary school. We sure have come a long way from believing that "love is love" blah blah blah to having homosexuality promoted to our children as though that were a desirable thing that they might actually be missing out on if they don't give it a try.

There's a direct correlation between how many nails are hammered into the coffin of The West and the extent to which The West has abandoned and continues to abandon Christianity in favor of secular humanism/progressive liberalism. And don't hold out hope for most of the younger generations of The West, they don't even know if they're a man or woman and need to find 'safe spaces' to run to, curl up into fetal positions and suck their thumbs... at the mere utterance of any word that challenges their woke-indoctrinated world view.

@wherezthebeef
@wherezthebeef 3 ай бұрын
It was the abandonment of Christian ideals and ethos, replaced with secular humanism, along with progressivism, that planted the seeds of our own destruction. Either you see it, or you don't, and you need a broad and deep understanding of history to clearly see what happened. Not agression, and corruption exist everywhere , through the ages... neither of the latter have stopped the enemies of The West from gaining ground. There was a real thing called Christendom and it made Europe, and briefly, America, what they were in their heydey. The countries is most rapid decay, decline and chaos are those which have most completely abandoned their Christian roots in favor of secular humanism/progressive liberalism. It's a death spiral.

@@andreww4751 No, "Faux" and "false" are not exactly the same. "Faux" means imitation or fake, more specifically faux is used in the context of imitating something of high quality. So you use the term when describing something like "Faux leather" for furniture and "faux wood" for car interiors. This also indicates that a person who has Faux leather furniture is trying to appear wealthy but is not. In the same way, Faux Virtue is someone pretending to be wealthy in spirit, but is not. Using "Faux Virtue" encompasses this relationship between what is being displayed, the person's motivation, and their shallowness. The term "false" simply does not catch this.

Being able to repress your own people took a lot of resources. But now with AI the Internet and all the resources we have available, you can totally repress society at an alarming level with very few people. So you don’t need tens of thousands of people who are like-minded. You’ll need dozens in comparison. Which basically means if we become authoritarian, basically it’s forever. Even Dawkins admits he likes living in a Christian society. Without the morality that scales very well with Christianity, the underpinnings of society are basically gone. Look at how people act in the west compared to 20-40 years ago. You can see the impact Christianity had in character, and now the lack of it shows in society.

Christianity has morphed into the prosperity gospel. Christians like everyone sold their kids down the river for prestige, power and possessions. Once you saw whole families in church, now they have become social centers for baby boomers. How many young people do you see there now?. I am not pretending to be clairvoyant but I had the oddest experience a few years ago. I was riding home from taking my dog to the chiropractor. I wasn't thinking about anything, just be bopping down the road. All of a sudden a wave of despair came over me. I looked to my left and there was a large building the size of a hospital but it was a nursing home. You could feel the waves of despair rolling over it like a wave. We have traded the family and children for things. Young people are so confused they do not know what gender or even species they are. We are done.

Through the exertion of this domination, it’s forced migration of a few types of religious groups to migrate into regions in such a mass that it creates conflict within the new country, not racial but religious conflict

Unfortunately I have arrived at the same dire conclusion over the last ~4 years. Starting in early 2020, my assessment has only proceeded exponentially. Based on my active search of what is happening and has really happened the last ~120 years. I was triggered ~22 years ago to study real history. My deficit of actual historical knowledge. Due to my youthful ignorance, propaganda, and being fed a steady diet of mis/dis information. I was truly oblivious to reality. Slowly and painfully learning what is much closer to a real truth. The likelihood of this dire outcome has became more obvious to me. It's in the cards.

I find Bret Weinstein annoying at times, here at 1.11 he tries to define the past as race against race, this is dumb as it was tribe against tribe, clan against clan. Here in the UK we fought the French for hundreds of years and they are the same race, so stop reverting back to the whole woke terminology.

Race is interchangeable with tribe and clan inasfar as a group of people with unique & easily identifiable characteristics goes. The concept still holds. Plenty of tribes that used to exist at one point in human history no longer do as of present. And usually due to a war or _"purge"_ of some kind, if not environmental catastrophe.

There is no value in deluding ourselves. As I see it, the current manifestation of our hypersensitive society where feelings outweigh facts is a direct extension of liberal progressivism. Those who were part of the " enlightenment " of trying to move beyond tribal / racial identity / cult of personality group think allowed themselves to become overtaken with their self satisfaction. They moved the goalposts as it were from achievement to appeasement, where the end results mattered less than they way they felt about themselves following some activity or proclamation. Of course, all this was being done in the ignorance of basic human behavior. There is, has always been, and will always be evil, greedy, narcissist, sociopathic people among us. They have been the root cause of conflict throughout the history of humankind. They recognize the propensity for the masses to be appeased and placated, the ease with which this can de accomplished. History is replete with examples. The growth of " social media " has made this easier than ever before, and the popularity of that media is, quite frankly, disturbing. I am reminded of an old adage ascribed to a cartoon strip. " We have met the enemy and he is us.".

Something totally not spoken about here -, is the driver for the united states was that inalienable rights and freedom, and the morality and even the justice system they were striving for, were predicated largely on judo christian based values. Even early mass legal migrants, many had these same values, Many of these systemic values we strived for can be seen in proverbs. Like gravity, the more a moral based governance model draws to a basis of high principles as provided for in the scriptures, the ten commandments, the higher likelihood of that system having a long term success. We have become Pottersville. What we are witnessing now is a decline of values, resulting in deaths, constant lies, political power, fame, sports worship, violence and sex, predominant in movies, deceit, lack of justice, crime drugs, childless homes, fatherless homes, bribes, no need to work hard to eat, government becoming our sole provider and God, Corporations driven by stock price, and profit over Godly Values, and so much more. Map the nations. as a general rule, the higher per capita wealth, are nations that at least had their roots in Judea christian principles, the last several centuries, (though starting to run on fumes), and nations as people doing well on "per capita" basis, (Japan) though not with the same religious history, and yet influenced strongly post WWII by a nation that was. Our nation never arrived, because like Israel, when the dream of freedom, wealth, cars homes, flat screen tv's entertainment, a great education and job, became a reality for many, no longer were Godly values seen as being as much as necessary. our Society started doing what was right in mans increasing perverse own eyes, more and more - and its end becomes death and destruction. Be it murdering babies, acceptance of any number of immoral practices as the norm, ranging from divorce, to adultery, to sex before marriage, and now, its just whatever oh that's okay too.

Jack Tiscione here: The "West" in the U.S. at least MIGHT be saved by having the country split into 4-6 separate countries and having the denizens "pick" a country of their liking (birds of a feather flock together). This would probably only happen after much "drang und angst tribal conflict" where simply being able to literally live would be the primary concern. (would be great, compared to the alternative, if the breakup happened peacefully BEFORE this tribal conflict) Its' unlikely this would happen and the country would degenerate into some Mad Max sort of thing where maybe the survivors ^ 20% maybe would find safety in their own tribal group...How would food be grown...Distribution would break down... On the face of it , it does seem like a hopeless situation. I fear for my grandsons

I grew up in the 80’s/90s and I don’t think that was the peak but we were largely deluded it was. The average American was not aware the dream of the west was maintained through brutal tactics all across the world since WWII. coups, assassination, economic sanctions and hundreds of military bases etc to maintain the illusion and a standard of living that made us here in the US feel like the future was only going to get better for everyone. 9/11 broke the spell at least for me. I started looking into why it happened and who bin Laden was and as soon as I saw we created the monster we had to slay any optimism I had about how far humanity had come was gone.

Islam produced bin laden, and an extremely wealthy family in a cultural context, made by a father who was an ingenious land developer. So while I understand your direction of gross generalization and post liberal doom, it may be more useful to define your argument with more skill and conclusion. And if you think there is somehow a unique aspect to the shadow side of the USA keeping the wolves at bay, set apart from any other nation not already enjoying a relatively stable global monetary and trade system, by all means explain. Id suggest you are only describing the recognition that there is a point at which children become adults and discover the full range of human behavior, defensive of otherwise.

It's not West vs non-West Its liberal democracy on the one hand vs kleptocracy, autocracy, theocracy and totalitarianism on the other

Sounds like he’s talking about total human equity AKA human extinction.

I have good news for Americans. The whole world will starve without the Mississippi/Missouri river. If everybody else wants to eat, America will be just fine.

What is funny is that instead of supporting diversity, and exploration he ends up pushing a conservative agenda which is hardly different than radical Islam.

Bret, I stumbled across you on the Dark Horse podcasts early pandemic and always found you to be very fair and overly intelligent but we have to believe it’s fixable or there’s no point in going on. And, not a criticism, but it’s going get worse before it gets better. But it will get better.

I think it might be time to look back to ancient Rome when the barbarians were at the gates. The Roman empire divided itself with Constantinople becoming the eastern capitol and Rome the western. In other words, as The Enlightenment is being picked apart by those incapable of understanding it, we need to divide the country before one, we lose the greatest gift the western world has given mankind or two, that the delay of that necessary division may cause violent opposition followed by a potential civil war. Ideally, anyone capable of understanding the root justifications for The Enlightenment needs to be separated within their own nations or even between continents. One side gets western and central Europe, the other the US and Canada. Because this fundamental irreconcilable division has no way of solving itself; we're simply designed differently between those who are capable of understanding liberalism and those who don't and at the gut level probably never will or could never accomplish even if they tried.

It's too bad neither of you apparently has never read the Bible. Humanity's fate is spelled out in detail in God's book the Bible. It reveals humanity's and the earth's ultimate fate. It might behoove you to actually read it, rather than offer up your mere opinions or speculate.

Video seems to have cut off awkwardly at the end. Where is the rest of the statement? Please don't tell me this was an intentional bait and switch type teaser slash buy my book blatant capitalist manipulation of the audience. ...Especially lame given the topics discussed
