Well done, I hope you find it as good as I did. I found I get a much better night IR picture and video by increasing the exposure setting, but you'll need to back it off again for daytime. I mounted mine using the Sports match ATP66 fully adjustable mounts to get it as bob on as I could without using the reticle adjustment.

@dbppestcontrol5670 thanks for the tips doug. Ive seen that ir splash can be a bit off when using image shift to zero.
@dbppestcontrol56702 күн бұрын
@jaysargent8411 ..Yes, I can appreciate that might be a small peoblem. I mount mine using Sports Match fully adjustable mounts, that way I can get it 99% on zero, then fine tune with the on board reticle adjustment. I always try to minimise the use of reticle adjustments on any type of scope.

Thank you for your comments, much appreciated. It took a few spurious purchases and a fair bit of trial and error to find my ideal kit. I have purposely steered away from thermal scopes as I prefer the live and video rendition of IR. I wonder which bit of kit I'll manage to convince myself I need next 😂

Hello Doug, My name is Ian. I just wanted to say thank you for a great video. I really enjoyed it and everything about it. I just loved your general air rifle chat. Your relaxed demeanour and shooting type clothing, presentation, and knowledge. I'd guess where you are, maybe your man cave? Looking behind you, I'd guess it may be your attic, judging by the apex shape behind you. I think it's all really great. Thank you so much, I loved seeing your kit and your explanations, too. I shoot twelve foot pounds air rifles. As yet, I've no real requirement for an FAC licence. I do pest control for people and obviously target shooting also to zero my air rifles. My late, dearly loved and missed father was also a shooter, with interests in air rifles, shotguns, and black powder/muzzle loaders and a hobbyist gunsmith. He would buy broken air rifles, mend them, and sell them on. He loved doing that. I had quite a strict upbringing, where children were expected to be seen and not heard. My two main interests were air rifles and tools/joinery, and I wasn't allowed to do either. Tools came in my early twenties when I bought my house, and air rifles began at age forty-eight when my father passed. I have and use spring and pcp air rifles. I've made two laminated gunstocks with hand tools in my kitchen to replace gunstocks I didn't like and thought I could do better. Obviously, because of my upbringing, my gunstocks are very precious to me with what they represent, as I wasn't academic to any great degree at school. I loved seeing your BSA R10. Initially, I thought it was a Super Ten, as there's an Irish guy on Utube called Hunters Vermin who uses a BSA Super Ten, which, with its colouring, looks just like yours. His is running at around sixteen foot pounds and blue printed by Mr John Bowkett. I think they're both good-looking air rifles. I wish you well, Doug, in your future videos, and I look forward to seeing you again soon. Best wishes, my friend, Ian.

Wow, thank you for your kind comments Ian, that was quite an introduction. Great to know you love your shooting and "tinkering" as I do. My first air rifle was given to me at the tender age of around 12, it was a very old (1920's) German Tell Model 260 .177 smooth bore break barrel. It wasn't up to much but got me hooked on shooting. This was back when my brother and I would disappear onto the farm early in the morning and reappear just in time for teatime, having spent the day getting up to all sorts, mostly involving shooting stuff 😉

@dbppestcontrol5670 Hi Doug, Thank you for your message. That sounds like a great way to spend a day, to me. As air rifles were forbidden for me as a youngster, from being twelve years old, my dream air rifle was a Weihrauch HW80K. They were the air rifle of the day. When I did eventually have my opportunity for an air rifle, it was Weihrauch HW97K underlever and then the HW80K break barrel. I, however, did actually own a BSA Meteor, but the Weihrauch's with respect to BSA were just another animal!

Enjoyed that, certainly the first version of the pard 007 that I owned was better than the second when comparing image quality, hope you have a great new year of pest control !.

Thank you, yes I agree....I have heard that Pard had to change the type of Infrared emitter from the initial type, to satisfy the UK import requirements.

Hi mate , thanks for your time with the videos they make great viewing, quick question please …. do you still prefer the 007 against the pard 35 when foxing ? Cheers
@dbppestcontrol56702 күн бұрын
Hi Nigel, thank you for your kind comments. My foxing setup takes two forms. I sometimes use my .17HMR if I think the ranges are going to be relatively short, and that has the Pard N008 permanently mounted on it. My longer range fox rifle is the .22 Hornet with a Hawke Airmax mounted, and for that I use my Pard N007 SP. Because of the relatively flat trajectory of both rifles over the distances that I tend to shoot, I decided against fitting a DS35, as I don't need the ballistic calculator. Both the Pard N008 and the N007 SP offer a range finder if I need one and decent recording quality (albeit not the 2k quality of the DS35). The DS35 would be a great addition to both rifles, but I can't warrant the expense, given the effectiveness of the kit I already have.
@NigelClark-z4p2 күн бұрын
@ Thanks for that , I use the HMR for the shorter ranges on the foxes so you’ve helped me decide on the 007 , plenty around at the moment so keeping busy (weather dependent)😁👍
