DC-3 - The rise, Fall and Retirement

The DC-3 was introduced in 1936 and became a huge hit after World War II. Propeller powered, the plane's sucess was obscured by the increasing presence of jetliners. Aware of it's obsolescence, the DC-3 initiated it's retirement and now wanders around the airport lounges and moving walkways of the other side of the airworld.

O DC-3 foi lançado em 1936 e se tornou um enorme sucesso após a segunda guerra mundial. Movido por hélices, o sucesso do avião foi sendo ofuscado pela crescente presença dos jatos. Ciente de sua obsolescência, o DC-3 se aposentou e agora passeia pelos saguões e esteiras rolantes do outro lado do mundo da aviação.
