@@danmenard6917The real excuse is that line was said in the original Manga which time flows a lot differently and faster paced then in animation. For whatever reason they kept that line in the anime and ‘5 minutes’ turned into over 3 hours (in the original series anyway, Dragon Z Kai condensed it considerable but still far longer then 5 minutes). People try to find a justifyed in-universe explanation for it but it's really just fans trying to make sense of a plot hole that really should've been rewritten for the anime adaptation but for whatever reason they didn’t.

​@@danmenard6917TOP Was weird in the Manga, people complained that the TOP was to bloated and padded which maybe it was in places but the manga had the exact opposite problem being far to condense. In the manga 5 of the eight universes were all kicked off in just one issue of the manga, so only universe 6, 7, and 11 mattered. There was also a lot of dumb stuff in manga version like Roshi was somehow able to put up any sort of a fight with Jiren. Honestly the manga version of TOP was big disappointment for me. About the only good thing they did with it is that it did give some characterization and personality to Jiren rather then just have him as a boring plank of wood with giant muscles in the anime.

You know, I was introduced to B’Wanna Beast from Batman the Brave and the Bold. I never thought of him as a racist character despite his outfit. He just seemed to be a kind of silly but loveable and nice character that ended up having a really depressing end to his character. It really made me appreciate his character a lot more. In retrospect, yeah, it’s not that great for him to be this “white saviour” type of character.

My introduction with B'wana Beast was JLU where he oggled Zatanna in her stage outfit. And helped her and Batman free Wonder Woman from a spell from Circe. There have to be like, at least ten 'Doolittles' in the Justice league. Also, first appearance of Jonah Hex in at4w if i recall right.

Actually, Linkara, they explained the atmosphere thing last episode. Remember, Supes was exhaling a bit of Earth atmosphere so when he dug underground he presumably stopped exhaling it so that he could get away and started exhaling again when he started talking with Mongul. B'waha Beast, is the reason why most fusion decks are banned! But the honest, he plays fusion way too much, and we thought Jaden plays fusion a lot(you get the joke. If you watch GX, there is a reason why they created a new archetype , although synchronous summoning is just fusion with less complicated rules, involving formula of math, meanwhile, the other one with the actual number system is based on on having a pair or three of a kind!)

I actually really liked the *concept* of B'Wana Beast, though not necessarily the execution. My family came to the US from Africa back when our country was still a European colony, so the idea of a white person being portrayed as African doesn't really phase me (even back then, there were still many, many whites born in Africa who had no racist feelings toward others, and who could still refer to Africa as their homeland). I don't recall if that was B'Wana Beast's backstory or not, though I do know it was Congo Bill's. As somebody who's roots come from there, I can say that I don't have a problem with portraying both white and black characters from Africa, just like we'd see for the USA or Europe. However, the fact that he was portrayed as having a black sidekick (who frankly was much for qualified for the role) does bug me. I think it would have been better if Mike Maxwell was the sidekick, and Rupert Kenboya (his african friend and sidekick) became the superhero. That way we could have still gotten an awesome African superhero, and the censors would have had the white "protagonist" they demanded to not ban the book (yes, that was a big issue comics faced by introducing black characters of the time. Great illiteration, but very wince inducing indeed. I think it would have made more sense if it was "Hatari Beast," since that is (to my knowledge) the Swahili word for danger. One thing I do like about the Showcase issues that introduced him, though, is that Haney and Sekowsky did include a lot of Swahili jargon in the stories. I honestly don't think they had bad intentions in creating the character, it was just hampered by ignorance and the times. Lastly, I do love B'Wana Beast's costume and powers. I mean, those are some of the most unique powers I've ever seen a superhero have. It's a shame we've never seen much done with them outside of the Brave and the Bold cartoon. And Freedom Beast, though I'm not particularly wild about the name (just wish it also used a Swahili, or any sort of African language word), was unfortunately never used to his full potential either. A real shame. I get why you would want to give the title of DC's first African superhero to a black man (Congorilla started as an adventurer, so I'm not counting him), but to do that by making Mike Maxwell a villain and then killing him? And then barely using Freedom Beast and killing him also? Just seems wasteful and doesn't sit right with me. One last thing - I don't remember where Freedom Beast was supposed to be active, but B'Wana Beast's stories were supposed to be set in Tanzania (Djuba gave him his powers using super advanced gorilla science from a lab he had in Kilimanjaro), which didn't have apartheid. Was that something they changed Post-Crisis that I forgot about? Anyway, you're welcome to disagree with, that's just my take as both a long-time DC fan and the first US born son of immigrants from Colonial Africa. Awesome character idea, disappointing execution.
