@Blue Lantern it's because at scrabble it's a game where you have to know lots of words to have an advantage. it begins with you being given like 10 random letters that you have to place on the grid. You make points by placing letters on the grid but you only can place letters by forming them into real words. So if proper nouns were authorised, with names like Mxyzptlk you could write almost anything and still be writing a valid word.

As he explains himself to Jonathan, the Mr. Mxy we’ve seen in the comics, Superman animated, Lego games, live action, and literally all the media he’s been in, is the exact same _singular_ Mr. Mxy just currently residing in another dimension, meaning that his definitive voice is that of Gilbert Gottfried.

He never said that he's actually the same guy. He said that there are infinite variations of him across the multiverse. He just acknowledged his alternate versions , people just take that one statement out of context , there are too many contradictions to that statement.

dio • not really. He's an abstract entity with undefined powers and his main goal is to cause mischief for superheroes, primarily being Superman. If he's destroyed the multiverse before he could easily do it again. The best part about that is that he can have any backstory or look but he'll always be the same guy and all of it's canon. How can you know if it's a contradiction? Last I checked he was from the 5th dimension

@@pickedceasar1216 I know what he is. The problem is that he says That There Are Infinite Variations Of himself , not That he is the same character that exists in every universe. There's a difference between knowing that there are different versions of yourself across the multiverse and being the only version of yourself in the entire multiverse. And by contradictions , I mean Mxy in worlds funnest being able to surpass the source wall or ascend to a higher dimension while current one couldn't do it until the source wall was destroyed. WF mxy was also able to survive through the destruction of 5th dimension while the current one was dying and losing his power. If WF mxy is the same as Others , then why couldn't a bloodlusted mxy defeat a weaker version of trigon who is like multi universal at best or why couldn't he override dr fate's spell in injustice ?

Just thought I'd add that even if World's Funnest isn't canon, it technically is canon to Mxy himself. He makes it clear to Superman that while there may exist alternate versions of the Man of Steel, Mxy is one entity who experiences it all. So the same Mxy you see in say live action, is the same one from the Lego DC, and hes the same one from stories even when he "dies". Its all a big game to him and he loves doing his role.

mr m has 5th dimensional physiology, meaning he exists on the imaginary plane. he is an imaginary character and can do anything that would happen in one's imagination. also, the fact that mr m can interact and control the central source of the story (the authors) makes him an 'above fiction' level character, making him the 5th most powerful character in all of fiction, tied with akari akaza, featherine, and... eric cartman. if you want more info please reply to this comment! i have been studying on this for a couple of months now. i really hope rob sees this, because i would seriously like him to help me put together my list of the most powerful characters in fiction. i have the top 5 right now.

I might have missed it in the episode, but it is cannon that there is only one version of the character. All incarnations that we have been exposed to across all media has been the one character taking on different faces. So the version we first met in his first intro back during the golden age is the same one in main continuity as is the animated series version and so on. He just slips into multiple realities to mess with all the various Supermans of the multiverse.

If you think about it worlds funnest is merely a story of mxzylptlk showing off his unbounded amount of power and then immediately ret conning everything he did. So it was canon while you were reading it, but he basically “loaded a quick save” and took it out of canon just before the end of the story
