The Judas Contract Saga was a masterpiece in storytelling, and remains, for me one of the best comic book stories ever written. Unfortunately, The New Teen Titans immediately jumped the shark a few issues later, and the comic fell into a completely unreadable shit show by 1989/90. But to be fair, by 1991 most comic books from DC and Marvel had become crap (in my opinion) and I began to exclusively read independently published titles and European graphic novels.

The best summary of the Teen Titans being done dirty is that in issue 100 of the 2003 run, released all the way in October 2011, we finally saw Beast Boy and Raven deciding to give them being a thing a shot, capping it off with a kiss (not their first: earlier on Raven teleported them into a morgue and smooched him). Next issue? Launch of the New 52, undoing everything that came before. Because we can't have Beast Boy being happy.

Thanks for this video. New Teen Titans/New Titans is my favorite series of all time with my number 1 favorite character (Robin/Nightwing) and number 2 (Kid Flash/Flash). The character development throughout the series is what made it so good in my mind. They were a family, not a team.

I love these DC and Marvel explained videos, but even with an excellent and detailed overview of what's going on, it's impossible to tell what is going on. DC and Marvel comics are such a mess, and the recurring theme is, editors vs creators = everyone loses. This is an issue that tanks movies and TV shows as well, but it's always sad to see creative visions getting stomped on by industry insiders who just don't get it.

Dick Grayson is Robin's fist and last name .Than became Nightwing during there fight with the Brother Blood cult ,Which had Deathstroke in the story line as well ,And was like a cool story line back in the 80's .But The New Teen Titans were cool back then ,At the time did not know was the smaller group of Titans .Since the new team was so cool looking at the time .But anything later than that I do not know ,And cool video on The Titans Rob .

Umm...George Perez didn't leave NTT to work on Infinity Gauntlet. That wasn't until 1991. He left NTT to do pencils for Crisis on Infinite Earths, which happened after NTT relaunched as Volume 2 ( issues 14 and 15 of NTT Vol. 2 are COIE crossovers).

I did not like the original _'CRISIS on INFINITE EARTHS'_. I don't care why they did it. It just pissed me off. I basically stopped reading DC Comics because of it. Then, when APOCALYPSE appeared, wiping out what seemed to be years of setup for MR. SINISTER, I abandoned MARVEL too. Because as a 13-year-old in 1980, I discovered both _The NEW Teen Titans_ and _The Uncanny X-MEN_ at the same time. I was a huge fan of the writing by both Marv Wolfman and Chris Claremont. I was a huge fan of the artwork by George Perez and John Byrne. But once both comic book universes began to have regular multi-title summer time _'EVENTS'_ that went nowhere and served no purpose, I simply got pissed. Because as much as three, four, or even six months of annual issues for my favorite storylines would be interrupted for the sake of that BS. A lot of the changes that happened to the X-MEN and TEEN TITANS over the years since I missed entirely. It is nice to see a rundown of them all, but it still doesn't change the fact that those teams left me behind ages ago. It's a real shame, because things could have been so much better.
