He was issued at least 15 loud verbal instructions. He didn't comply. He had his hand on an unregistered firearm. He aimed the illegal Firearm at the Police. He didn't want to go to Jail so he went somewhere else. What did he, or you expect?

@@iamknosound he didn’t grab his own gun he grabbed the officer’s gun you can slow down the video and clearly see that the victims gun is still in his lap. And he’s just waking up the officer is YELLING in his face with multiple guns in his face and there was a high chance the victim had head trauma. I doubt the victim was even knowing what was happening. And go to jail for what?? He’s a victim not a suspect there was no crime committed the whole Rey the police was even out there was to see if THE VICTIM was okay. So obviously I expect the cops to do their job the correct way and use their critical thinking skills they are supposed to be taught. On top of that there are so many non lethal options and the cop firing more than once was od.

So police provided footage. I'm glad that body cams are a norm and police release what they capture. THE NEXT QUESTION, how did he crash, unconscious, with a gun on his lap and stay sleeping at a McDonald's drive through? Did he have a heart attack... then why the gun? Did someone threaten him ... then why unconscious? 2A. Fine. Open carry in a drive through asleep at the wheel. Any reasonable person would admit this adds a WTF for the cops tho and a question of what happens when he does wake. The other customers probably honked at the guy. If so, he was in a pretty deep sleep. None of it makes sense. And until it does, no rush to judgement other than a clear fascist escalation. The footage is released. Next up, toxicology.

How are people saying he didn't touch the gun? The footage isn't clear but it's pretty clear that he picked up the gun and pointed it at them, and I'm confident the improved footage and investigation will confirm this. I've thought about a better way to handle it and I can't find one. If someone is drunk and/or exhausted enough to crash their car and pass out with a gun on their lap, what other way is there to handle it? They couldn't try to take it from his lap. If he responded aggressively in that circumstance, which he probably would have, what would be the community's response then? The cops would then have provoked his response. They couldn't just let him sit there without directing him in a forceful way. And they couldn't fail to fire, given the man's state and the pointing of the gun. All that said, it's highly likely that the man was disoriented and didn't intend on firing. But the officers had absolutely no way of knowing that, and couldn't wait to find out. The investigation might conclude that the officers should have given him more time and done so from a distance. I doubt it but I'm not the expert. It's tragic.. that much I do know.

You are also not a cop you don’t have the proper thinking skills. that’s the things random people off the street shouldn’t be allowed to be cops. He also didn’t grab his gun you can slow down the video and see that his gun is still in his lap he tried to grab the officers gun which is completely understandable IF YOU JUST GOT INTO A CAR ACCIDENT AND PROBABLY HAVE SOME TYPE OF HEAD TRAUMA AND YOU WAKE UP WITH HELLA PEOPLE IN YOUR FACE WITH GUNS. Would you not be confused? I know you wouldn’t even try to do something to defend yourself like that cause your are weak minded and that’s why you were so quick to take the cops side even with all “I couldn’t think of a more perfect way to handle this”. Of course there are forceful ways NON LETHAL forceful ways. And before the victim even woke up the officer was calling him a “suspect” and said use “lethal force” on an UNRESPONSIVE victim. The reason they were even called out there was for his safety. Instead standing around like they don’t have any common sense they should’ve pulled him out wayyy before the officer shot him. And even after he shot him the way he yanked him out of that car was hella careless and simply disrespectful. He was bleeding he should’ve taken much more care knowing he just shot that man like 6-7 times.

I understand how some people that encourage police brutality have their prospective, and that is because it hasn’t hit home. You didn’t hear this officer threatening the lady to pull her out the car, she was too drunk to go home??? No test, No nothing, I would give my opinion but it doesn’t matter, just feel like they could have approached this situation better, but who am I. Everyone be safe and protect yourselves. First off, he never pointed any gun at that cop/anyone ..as we clearly can see in the footage above, he was clearly unconscious at the time/moment and as the cop showted “ put your hands up “..in addition to that being in a horrible state after the crash he goes to screw down his car window as the cop repeatedly showted “ put your hands up “pointing a fully loaded gun directly into Justin Robinson’s face as he tries putting his hands up because he was still a-bit unconscious as he goes to put his hands up him instantly seeing a gun and it being forcefully pushed into his face as he lists his hands up he tries pushing it away and as he does 10 shots goes off killing him on the spot as the cop still repeated “ put your hands up”😢. This is so sad because it’s like us black people could never call for help?. I can tell you from experience, getting woken up by multiple cops screaming at you and all you see is flashlights and guns is so terrifying, and youre so discombobulated from the sudden wake up. If you slow the video down it looks like he was reaching for the door unlock button with his left hand/arm. But trigger happy cops only see reaching, and all 20 unload their mags at once. OVERKILL. They need better training, and you can see this play out on countless videos. You get the first cop thats the scardest who shoots first and all the other cops who cant really see whats going on inside the car hear the first shot and they're all shooting after that first one because they assume since the first guy shot, it must mean go time. Poor guy didnt stand a chance, they didn't even give him a chance. He wasn't pointing the gun at anyone prior to them getting there. If cops are soooo scared of guns, they shouldn't be in law enforcement. Condolences to this victim to the good ol boys in blue who mowed down another one. Wait till qualified immunity goes away. You'll have less and less of these "accidents" because they'll then finally be held accountable for their "mistakes".

I feel for the family I truly do but bro reached up and legit grabbed the officers weapon man…. Any officer would immediately defend themselves and shoot… I’m a firm believer in law but this whole scene is sketch man…. Why was homie passed out with a gun in his lap in a McDonald’s drive thru? Was he drunk? High and fell asleep??? Lord knows mcds SUCKS and takes forever but to be passed out at 5am, fire arm in his lap?? The mother saying “they came at him like he already committed a crime” - who knows if he did commit a crime? DUI is a crime whether is booze or drugs. Being passed out the cops will almost always box the vehicle in then try waking the person up…. That’s just normal precautions I’ve seen several times- but add in the firearm on homies lap- sketchy ass situation man…. As for the amount of shots fired- again yall, HE HAD A GUN IN HIS LAP, reached towards and grabbed the officers firearm and presented himself as a threat…. Idk how they are trained now days with all the crap that’s happened but I’ve heard many a times “shoot until the threat is eliminated”…. Did it take 11 shots?? Nah probably not but he WAS still armed so it’s a slippery slope… All in all- I feel immensely for the family and loved ones. No parent should have to bury their children. Fricken sad man… I hope they find more details and release ALL EVIDENCE!! As for the protests that turned into riots and up to 60 people breaking into the Gucci store, other stores and starting fires then also attacking and beating several people is utter bullshit. That’s not protesting and is a stain on this young man’s memory!!! It’s criminals wanting to cause mayhem and steal shit they can’t afford to buy period… I’m in full support of protesting until they turn violent. They should all be arrested and charged accordingly!! 🤦‍♂️

@ToBeKing
@ToBeKing 6 күн бұрын
I’m pretty sure you’re always on the police side when they kill people, this clearly isn’t self defense. You can’t point your weapon first, than put the weapon in the person’s face, and when the reach for your gun to move the gun, you fire. If this wasn’t a cop you wouldn’t call this self defense. And to answer the question about why he has a firearm in is lap, is because, if you’re in a dangerous neighborhood having a gun in your lap is way safer than fumbling around your car to grab it when you need it. And why was he sleep in a drive through, it could’ve been a number of reasons, medical emergency, drunk, or sleep deprived. That still doesn’t give the officer a reason to take his life, when he finally came through.
@jbpitbbqgaming2170
@jbpitbbqgaming2170 6 күн бұрын
@@ToBeKing I 100% do not back every officer involved shooting. There are bad cops out there and they should be fired immediately. I had my run ins with some real prick cops on power trip’s several times when I was younger, I use to hate all cops. BUT- not all police are bad. It’s funny how many people judge ALL police officers the actions of a few in comparison yet, those same people get pissed at the cops if they make those judgements about them (I use to too when I was in and out of trouble or when I got pulled over three times because the officer “recognized me”. As for being in a dangerous neighborhood- I live 20 mins from DC and know exactly where this took place and have been there many times. It’s not a vdangerous area. I’m also a firm believer in the 2nd amendment though and have my CCL and carry everyday myself. Never have I driven in any drive thru with my EDC in my lap. Not saying people don’t, as I’ve known people who have but never in a mcds drive thru- bc the workers would flip out seeing it and call the police and it would be a big thing. When Justin woke up the officers were talking about getting into positions to wake him up and try to take control of the situation. I’m pretty sure everyone knows not to pick up a firearm around an officer telling you to out your hands up and definitely know that if you reach for the officers weapon they will 100% shoot. I absolutely wish that Justin would have put his hands up, let the officer retrieve his weapon, make it safe and end it peacefully, sadly he chose to ignore the officers commands. In a situation like this, clearly he was impaired but had he not presented himself as a threat it wouldn’t have happened. I’ve been in two different situations where guns have pulled on me by people (not police) and it is a very stressful situation hands down. I wish this would have ended differently. Have you seen the newest footage of the second body cam? Clearly shows it was a lawful shoot…. I know how bad that sounds but it’s true. I agree it could have been a medical issue and I’m making the assumption he was drunk or high based off of what’s been said about it. And watching all the footage etc… idk man, just shitty shitty situation.

@ToBeKing No having a firearm in your lap passed out drunk is not a right nor is it safe. The man CRASHED into the McDs. He had a firearm on his lap passed out then given commands for several seconds, he keeps a gun in his hand and reaches for officers gun. A tragedy does not mean the police are at fault, maybe people make mistakes that cost their lives. Maybe teach people not to drive drunk with firearms.

He was unconscious and basically ambushed not knowing what was going on. They just started yelling at him with guns in his face. When someone first open their eyes they not fully awake or aware of there surroundings 😢 so sad they could have tased him. A yt person would of never been done like that. Sad part is these officers are BLK. The main officer was very aggressive and controlling to the whole situation I feel as tho he wanted it to play out exactly like that. @@Puddn Good question. Let's think like police. Normal RESPONSIBLE people DON'T sleep in their vehicles with a firearm nearby regardless of firearm legality. Even if that man was not a convicted felon, the fact that the firearm was seen, he's asleep prolly drunk & crashed, the police consider him a threat since he has the advantage in the car....and the OFFICER'S SAFETY CARD ( an excuse to ignore the rights of suspects, victims & witnessess for the personal safety of all police. In other words " I dont care if the suspect dies or not...I the cops ARE GOING HOME, no matter what)

@@PBE86 , how does he have an advantage in a car if he’s sleep…..outnumbered and disoriented from crashing/being under the influence? I hate to see anyone lose their life, and I wish this would have never happened, however; the police handled this properly. Why was the man asleep in the drive thru? Why did he have a gun? Aren’t guns illegal in The District? I am wondering why the cop felt it necessary to unload an entire clip? As for the man with the gun, I think he was startled by the police and may have been disoriented. It still does not change the fact that he was asleep in the drive thru with a gun in his lap! This is sad all the way around! 💔

Handguns are NOT ILLEGAL in the District if you have a permit and have been for more than a decade, provided you are not a violent felon. We seem to be shooting first - then asking questions, WHEN IN FACT THAT SCENARIO SHOULD BE REVERSED.

How in the hell did they ‘retrieve’ said firearm when the doors and window were closed. Well at least until one window was shot through. Threatening to shoot someone in the face is not the one. I didn’t hear anyone tell him to fall back- he seemed to me to be the first officer on scene. Therefore it was his scene. These comments that say “he wanted to kill him” or “he wanted to shoot him” etc are dumb and clearly lack experience in those situations. I have been in those situations twice. They’re hectic, crazy, and very serious and dangerous… hard to have sympathy when dude didn’t follow the instructions to out his hands up, reached for the officers weapon and presented himself to be a threat. He could have put his hands up, let the officers retrieve his weapon and he’d be alive. He was clearly intoxicated as well which present a new challenge because you don’t know how suspect will react while under the influence of substances. Sucks man… 😢 I feel bad for his family and loved ones but he chose his fate unfortunately.

Who else thinks these cops all need to be investigated. I am all for listening to what cops say. They literally spent 30 minutes securing a scene. They said this man was passed out, and the doors were unlocked. They had many opportunities to remove the firearm. Instead they riddle the man with bullets, and spend more time trying to save him. With a proper trained force, this would have ended a different way.
