This song is a total masterpiece from start to finish. The writing, the arrangement, the production is second to none. Top notch vocals and performance too boot. These 3 guys all compliment each other. Each one is great alone but they need so much to get back together.

+ezio7x I fee you. If ya think this is underrated, just look at a lot of 90's Hip Hop artists, THEY were far more underrated than DC Talk. SFC, Freedom of Soul, T-Bone, Dynamic Twins, Gospel Gangastaz, etc.
@ezio7x
@ezio7x 8 жыл бұрын
mrm64 i wasnt saying they were underrated, i was saying that people are making them underrated...i was speaking from the point of view of certain individuals that i know...they are all pure this or pure that, if they only KNEW what liberty university and other colleges alike, thought about dc Talk and their music, they had banned their music, (you know they graduated FROM Liberty University? now the colleges are singing their praises *shakes head*)...this is why i say what i said and how i said it...."they are underrated". i saw Gospel Gangstaz in concert once...and that was in the late 90's i have a audio cassette that they threw into the audience (they threw a few), never heard of the rest you mentioned :/...

I wish christians never do wrong thing in their bodies, like tattoos, fornication, drugs, smoking or eating to much sugar, our bodies are temple of the Holy Spirit.

I promise this song either gives me goose bumps at it's conclusion or it brings tears to my eyes depending on my spiritual state. This band and their "Jesus Freak" release was an integral part to my regaining my walk with God. I watch and listen to the band feeling bittersweet that this moment for them is gone but grateful they were blessed to create such a collection of songs and perform them in such an edifying way.

In my mind, I can see Your face As Your love pours down in a shower of grace Some people tell me that You're just a dream My faith is the evidence of things unsee In my mind's eye, in my mind's eye In my mind's eye, in my mind You know what I'm going through I know this is true 'Cause You stood in my shoes Desire's inside of me But it's hard to believe In what you cannot see Can you catch the wind? See a breeze? Its presence is revealed by The leaves on a tree An image of my faith in the unseen In my mind's eye I see Your face You smile as you show me grace In my mind's eye You take my hand We walk through foreign lands The foreign lands of life In my mind's eye, in my mind's eye In my mind's eye, in my mind In my mind I'm where I belong As I rest in your arms And like a child I hold on to you In my moment of truth, yes I do We can ride the storm Endure the pain You comfort me in my hurricane And I'll never be alone again In my mind's eye I see Your face You smile as you show me grace In my mind's eye You take my hand We walk through foreign lands The foreign lands of life In my mind's eye I see Your face You smile as you show me grace In my mind's eye You take my hand We walk through foreign lands The foreign lands of life In my mind's eye, in my mind's eye In my mind's eye, in my mind In my mind I can see Your face Love pours down in a shower of grace Life is a gift that You choose to give I believe we eternally live Faith is the evidence of things unseen People tell me that You're just a dream But they don't know You the way that I do You're the one I live to pursue Can you catch the wind? [Can you see God, have you ever seen Him? I've never seen the wind I seen the effects of the wind But I've never seen the wind] Can you see the breeze? [There's a mystery to it] In my mind's eye I see Your face You smile as you show me grace In my mind's eye You take my hand We walk through foreign lands The foreign lands of life In my mind's eye I see Your face You smile as you show me grace In my mind's eye You take my hand We walk through foreign lands The foreign lands of life In my mind's eye, in my mind's eye [I see You there again] In my mind's eye, in my mind's eye [I know You'll meet me there my Friend] In my mind's eye, in my mind's eye [I know You're there, I can touch You there] In my mind's eye, in my mind's eye [I want You there, I need You there, I see You there, I know You care] [And I believe, and I believe, and I believe]

DCTalk serenades with resonation the struggles the human soul searches to justify... But the script is already written by The Author and Creator. Ahh but free will makes it soo hard to follow that script. Keep the faith, and walk the talk and walk the walk of the way that which is narrow... cling to the promises of heaven... via the words of Jesus... Thank you for the truly great soulful lyrical tunes of modern hymns! DC Talk Rocks for Jesus!!!

after the reformation, the Scots had more patents, free medical care in the Presby hospitals, started the concept of public schools and discovered little things like penicillin. Leaders too in the arts, literature and music, somehow in the last 50 years Christians became followers in music and drama etc. UNTIL dctalk who led the industry with their breakthrough style including being very early in that rap "thing". Also they were not afraid, in their songs, to express doubt, and the thoughts we all share. They are thinking Christians. Man for man, note for note, lyric for lyric, melody for melody, style for style, they led and could hold their own- actually they could headline with any group in the world. Their band was tight, tight , tight. When they met at Liberty it was a true miracle. Good for you DC Talk- where father and son enjoyed the same song, with the father, if he knew music, was saying "Son, if you only knew!! lil. I have no idea if the rock hall of fame will look at them or not, but with so many unbelievers realizing how good they were - oh I don't care, may be better to not go in
@duffgordon9005

Those three meeting in a fundamentalist college were truly a sea change for every genre played. You want aCapella? you want rap- and the real stuff BEFORE IT's TIME? a trio blessed with power voices and one exceptional. I was fortunate to have them in the music box for my 3, 10-15 years old normal kids. . You want to know if an agnostic is a truth teller. Ask a friend that knows music, play "In my mind's eye" and if he acts dumb forget him, if the next one says : This is a power group oozing talent, then you know he may be an agnostic, but a great Christian band is still a "Great band"

You have given me a smile with your knowledge. Perhaps you have that fine little book? How the Scots changed the world? It is a pleasure that we see eye to eye- My point was, ok, Allah. you made up this religion with adherents over a billion? Where is your Einstein, medical break throughs . Teach me Mr Turk man, Teach me Mr. Make up your resume man. The issue, as I understand it. is allah encourages deceit for a foot hold. While the Christian God hates deception as the devil is "the Deceiver" not a friend.

This is my favorite song, it's one of the best CCM songs ever made, it fully conveys what it feels like to be in a relationship with God, the lyrics, the melody, the production, and this performance, with the visuals, its awe-inspiring, when they yell "I BELIEVE!" it moves me to worship, unlike actual modern-day worship music, which just does nothing for me, its painfully boring. Jesus Freak, on the other hand, is dynamic, creative and spiritually powerful, it has a legacy hard to match, its one of the best albums ever made, period. Thank you DC Talk, God has done and will continue to do amazing things with your music

I just echoed your feelings on here without knowing you had shared it. Isn't it a blessing to you and I that these three men were able to put out such a timeless piece of work as "Jesus Freak" and "Welcome to the Freakshow" ? I spent a winter with basically those two tapes as my only source of music and it had a profound affect on me. I became spiritually connected to the message and it guided my walk during a very dark time for me. They will have no clue but they saved alot of people with this.
