Healing has always been strong, my question is, is it impactfull? Does healing mid combat matter, or is the healing system the same as in D&D 5e were it's far more efficient to wait for the PC to go down, before you heal them?
@dndbaguette3 ай бұрын
@@BrotherHood-xh9sg Cause they don't go up-down like dnd, they have "death door" stage (equals to -prime modifier), if you go beyond that, you die, in addition to death throw you could fail. So even at 1hp, if you take a serious blow exceeding your thresold, you're gonzo I think it's better than 5e where you just cheese in and out when you're down

Flurry of blows seems like a fantastic feature to take as a multiclass talent for basically anyone who would want to do melee damage. The cool scene I keep imagining is a heavy armored Paladin getting surrounded by a bunch of undead. Chops one down with his greatsword, then his fists glow with a golden aura, PUNCH SMITE, PUNCH SMITE, PUNCH SMITE. Just some great juicy flavor in that combo I can see. Also mechanically it pairs great any and all sources of advantage. Barbarian reckless attack, Fighter's Adaptive tactics after the 3rd round of combat, Ranger's hunters mark, spending a stamina to use the Trip maneuver on your first attack, all sorts of stuff. No longer stacking disadvantage, now constant advantage on all 4 attacks is fantastic. Dealing 2 damage with base unarmed strikes is the same as all the middle of the road weapons like a shortsword or a battleaxe in 1 hand. You're a force to be reckoned with even if disarmed

There used to be a difference between darkvision and infravision (in the storybooks at least) and i'd love to have that get re-worked in to RPGs in general. It really let different races examine the world in different ways.

Out of all the DC20 one shots I've seen so far, this has been my favorite. (Hopefully you'll do more!) I love the out of the box thinking and the absolutely funny situation with poor Hibbet. Having played D&D (in many incarnations) for almost 35 years, I've always hated monks, and now I'm excited to play one. (I'm also hella curious to see how my favorite classes -- druids, rangers, thieves and warlocks pan out. What's also really wacky, is that I have NEVER (other than rangers) played a fighter/warrior/martial character, but now I'm intrigued at how those might feel as well. Damn, I'm going to have to find someone else to GM so I can PC some of those. One of the things I love is that even at lvl 1, characters can be epic. As opposed to my wizard casting her one freaking spell of the day (obviously I've played older versions more often) and then spending the rest of her time cowering in the back with her dagger. Another thing, in most D&D games I've been in/run, the DM seems to need to either give each starting player (lvl 1) some sort of an advantage (minor magic item, etc) or else start them at lvl 2 or 3 just so they can survive long enough to get thru the first level/set of combats. I don't see that as a problem here. So glad I joined the kickstarter, and looking forward to playing DC20 for the rest of my RP life!

Hey myself and some friends are doing a one shot soon, just wanted to see if you could clarify a few things, did you intend for SP recovery able to be picked as a multiclass option? Taking it further the talent point at level 2 is in under the class features if you took multiclass further allowing for multiple talents to be taken... though I feel it's certainly not intended as the talent points show on level progression tables. However our group is unsure about the class sp recovery.

@TheDungeonCoach7 ай бұрын
What was the circumstance? We played this weeks ago, so which moment was it? Ill give a clarification for ya!

@@TheDungeonCoach it was the rolling flat on the second attack as they were esacping the room. Colby punched a frog person and then threw a ninja star at another one. once they exited the room and took on the Frogliath he clarified that Monks get to do multiple attacks with out the stacking dis-advantage penalty on spending multiple action points for more attacks.
@Macaburugaming6 ай бұрын
Well it was because I assume that the first attacks were with fists it was stated that they dont get stacking disadvantage when making Melee attacks with fists (or feet?) So I assume that the disadvantages wouldn't start till after the kunai if more were thrown
@mctoasty17895 ай бұрын
I noticed this too. I would have thought that thrown attack would be at disadvantage, because it wasn’t unarmed. So, it must not be that additional unarmed strikes don’t get disadvantage, but that they don’t even count toward the multiple action penalty at all. Like, the thrown weapon attack counted as the first “attack action”.

Play-by-Play again: I enjoy Rexx's content. He goes over some great lore! I recommend his channel even if it is just for learning. The homage is that he eats you! 🤣 Grapple him with his legs, like that one guy did in Anaconda when he snapped the lady's neck (the scene is mad cheesy). Wil's character should have Mind's Eye vision, where if he's blinded in some way, he can kind of see things within a certain radius of himself in his mind due to being a Psionic. I don't know, I just made all of that up. I'm sorry, Dora in the what...?!? Throw the Dwarf! Almost like tossing the Halfling! 😂 Dang! I fell asleep and missed ~15 minutes worth. I woke up to them killing the last little frog with Merrick. Wil Befriending the frog and acting like he's so excited to get eaten by Grub-Grub is some top tier hilarity. Trickery dickery dock, the frog failed his Spot... Poor Hibbit, such a nice guy. That Froghemoth has that rapid tongue! They defeated the Frogmonstergodthing! The 3 Action economy?!? It randomly cut off as you were explaining to them, not sure if an accident or on purpose. Overall, entertaining despite falling asleep part way through. This one showcased more rules, cool-cool.

In the alpha, you can't spend action points outside of combat. So this prevents the super adv all the time. So it may have been a little confusing as they had a surprise round at the start of fight 2.
