Honestly as a 17 year old cowboys fan I can say that 2014 and maybe 2016 was probably our two closest shots to making it to the nfc championship game maybe super bowl depending on what would of happened if we beat Green Bay in one of those divisional round playoff games

Let us look at a guy who was quite a running back, he was Dallas's best rookie running back, he broke rookie records. He was quite a beast, and he was always striving to get a first down. And most of times, he went for that one play touchdown.

Yeah I disagree with that, I think Emmitt Smith’s 95 season is the best in Cowboys history. And I liked Murray but 1 great season shouldn’t put him in the ring of honor imo. Loved him when he played for us though 💯.

Yes I agree Emmit got him slightly because of TD other than that would had been even. 8 straight 100 yd game is unheard today age if you not Henry. Murray was running like this for Dallas 4 straight yrs. We know 2 of the yrs Dallas did not feed him heavy. If Murray would played the full 2 season he would had been in Ring of honor.

That Green Bay game still makes me crazy. Of course the Dez catch play, but it may not have come down to that. Dallas was set around midfield and Demarco broke through over right tackle. Dallas had a perfect call on and if Murray was gone... I mean he was going to score. Nothing but green grass in front of him, but Julius Peppers puts his arm out in desparation and pokes the damn ball loose. Fumble by Demarco, Green Bay recovers.

I liked Murray’s deceptive speed. He doesn’t look fast but hit the hole or round the end and he’s gone for romp. If he stayed with the O-line we had then he’d probably have broken more records.🤠

Our O-Line in 2014-16, IMO, was the REAL "Great Wall Of Dallas" T. Smith, R. Leary, T. Frederick, Z. Martin, D. Free..WOW!🤯 No disrespect, and I'm not taking anything away from DeMarco Murray, and the year he had in 2014, BUT...IMO, the 2014-16 O-line we had was the BEST O-line I think we EVER had here in BIG D, and that's saying something, because our O-line back in 92, 93, and 95 was some pretty bad Mo Fo's in their own right, but I just think that as good as our O-line was in 92, 93, and 95, winning 3 SB'S in 4 years, was AWESOME in their own right, but our O-line in 2014-16 was a better one!! IMO, There's ONLY 2 THINGS the 92, 93, and 95 O-line had that the 2014-16 didn't, and it's the only edge I give to the 92, 93, and 95 O-line, where I can say they were more superior to our 2014-2016 O-line, just two things....#1...3 SB Rings! #2..Larry Allen!! Other than that, the 2014-16 O-line I think was the better O-line!!! Go back, and look at film of the 2014 season with DeMarco Murray rushing for 1845 yards....... Then go look at the film of Zeak Elliott's rookie year in 2016, with him rushing for 1631 yards....Check out our O-line and then tell me if you think I'm wrong!! Our O-line in 2014-16 had 3 All-Pro's, and future first ballot HOF'ers playing on the SAME O-line..WOW!🤯 I remember back in the 2014-16 seasons, when it came to just how AWESOME Our O-line was.. I remember that It was the ONE, and ONLY thing, ANY, and ALL haters COULDN'T and WOULDN'T even try to argue the fact that OUR O-line in 2014, 2016, was the BIGGEST, BADDEST, MUCH FEARED, and MOST SUPERIOR O-line IN THE LEAGUE in 2014-16!! Go look at the film, and it'll speak for itself, and prove my point at the same time!!💯 DeMarco Murray almost having a 2000 yard rushing season with 1845 yards in 2014, and then in 2016, Zeak Elliott comes along, and almost does the same thing in his rookie year, rushing for 1631 yards!! Man, Demarco was a great RB for Dallas, but I feel that our O line was awesome for opening holes for Murray to run through them at times. Don't get me wrong, Murray was one of Dallas best RB, but you gotta give credit to the O line, and Murray made a mistake and left Dallas for Philly (Which he shouldn't have done) and his career went south. Such a shame, he took the money, I know, but, it wasn't worth it for Philly.

It was great to a degree. If you go back that season there were some areas closed off and Murray made cutback runs, which is why he and Adrian peterson were so similar. As a running back, to know the laws of physics can be deadly for any defender

Defense was pretty decent and the OLine was the best in the league. They were fun to watch that year. Too bad it ended with the Dez non catch. And Tony’s final season.

Zeke is a better pass-catcher but imo Murray was underrated when it comes to physicality. He consistently lowers his shoulders and was embracing contact from defenders. Zeke's rookie year he was like that but he seems to be less physical than he once was.

He had a great year no doubt. But, he also had an MVP caliber QB too. A defense cannot commit to the run and still effectively cover receivers when Romo is the QB. What happened to Murray the next year without Romo? I was sad to see him go. But, just more evidence of how good Romo was. At 1:59, they mention how Romo was 9/9 and that opened things up for a about an 18 yard play.
