5 & 25 PTAS Coins of Spain Dated 1957

This brought back happy memories of coin collecting when I was a child in the '60s. We used to get the 5 pesetas in our change as they' re the same size and metal as the UK shilling. The last two digits of the actual year of minting are in the small star on the reverse.

I notice that the number in the little star on the back is 58 meaning it was actually minted in 1958. I've seen the 1957 coins minted as late as 1960. Not sure why they did that. I have a 50 Pta coin that has 58 on it so it completes your set.

Jobelyn Dacutan the best places to sell them are on eBay or NumisCorner. There’s a website called Numista which can give you mintages, values etc. but the price for a 1957 25 ptas is between 2 and 5 dollars US. I can’t really help you with the 1 centavo piece.
