@tenorplaya10 the carbon ply's are lighter than the other maple snares they offer. That is the main reason they use carbonply...to make them lighter and crisp.

@LAKings0101 and btw.... mahogany is LESS dense than maple. Especially african mahogany which is used in the Carbonply. google it..... Plus pearls site confirms that the drums were made for a lightweight set-up. - Calvin Warren III

I did not see this snare line rehearsing in my hometown 2 weeks ago. Clean diddles and decrescendo rolls were not happening in East Tennessee.

@mcgrundy I know but wat ever happen to good old drum corp? and how heavy r the drums anyway. Now a days they make the drums so lite, you don't need stands. I marched from 85-92 so i'm old school...forgive me LOL.....

@Salaripride and matched just looks bad. a snare line gets a nice, rounded appearance you can notice from the traditional grip itself. and the only line that ever pulled off matched grip was. oh wait! Santa Clara. 2005.
