Hey man don’t let that discourage you from pursuing something really cool! I play sax in high school last year, picked up baritone, auditioned, got contracted, and had an amazing summer. It just takes a lot of work and patience but you’ll be satisfied with your growth and the end result.

Envious of anyone who marched drum corps, especially world class. Being a woodwind player I never would have been able to learn brass or drums quick enough to get to the level I would have needed just to have a small chance. Marching I was fine , my high school band was a BOA national finalist all four years I was there (96-99), so I had experience marching and playing at a high level. We did really fast tempos with tough drill and technically difficult music. A lot of people in the band marched dci, cavaliers, cadets, star of Indiana and later blast! Good luck I hope all you guys make the corps of your dreams and get ready to work hard and really get after it. There is nothing like performing in front of 30,000 marching arts fans. GreAt video

I'm going For Carolina Crown and Spirit of Atlanta 2019. I would do love to get into the corps but u thing my greatest weakness is my double tonguing. I've been working like CRAZY to make it better and I'm seeing progress. I am also just trying to get everything up to speed and I know everything isn't going to be as fast as they want it and I've been grinding practice sessions, playing and not every day and now I'm ramping up the length because of how close camp is.

DCIaddict2601 - Hey, I am WAY too old to audition for anything but I have been a huge fan since going to Band camp at Whitewater 1987 and was able to see my first Drum Corps show live. I have not seen any live since, unfortunately. I live in the Valley and would love to see a few practices or shows that come through here, AND I am hoping to go to Finals week this year with a friend of mine, her son marched with the Madison Scouts, I think three years, aged out in 2012 or 13 I can't remember exactly, he is now on staff with the Scouts, so I am excited to go with someone who knows all the insider tricks of finals week, which is probably me creating some fantasy in my head about it, lol. Where can I find info about opportunities to see ANYTHING going on, from practices of Corps driving through, shows... ANYTHING... Than you for posting these great videos... I truly appreciate it!!!
