heyyy Mona. didn’t see an issue about what Ari said in the interview bc i watched the whole thing and knew she was joking on that part. i think the aftermath was what left a sour taste in folks’ mouth bc it’s a reality for some and she dismissed a lot of that. that’s all 💕

What aftermath? I’m just curious because I didn’t know that they were getting backlash
@tw99912 жыл бұрын
Yes! I agree I don’t think anything was wrong with what was said on the podcast bc she admitted there that it was childish and she grew. People took it out of context and didn’t show that part. So I think the easiest and most sensible response should have been “hey y’all I said I grew up from that!” Not the way she responded on that live i was disappointed tbh. I truly wish she’d understand that you can explain yourself without being overly defensive.

Can I come operate a 2nd camera for yall?? It would require more editing work (which im also open to doing) but I really enjoy the frames when we can see who you’re having a dialogue with and being able to switch to a 2nd angle post shooting would look cleaner than Dre turning the camera. This episode is probably my favorite one so far when it comes to the visual, the colors and lighting look great. Some shots were wide some were closer up and we don’t always get such a great variation like we did here! He does amazing work so I hope this doesn’t come off offensive. I just love you and would love to add value to what you have going on.

Honestly I feel a lot of us African Americans don't have Native American and ask is much as we thought. I believe we were cut with white blood and our ancestors was so ashamed they just said Indian when we came out looking "mixed". It's been in my family and we've all been told our whole lives that our grandmother's mother was full blood Native American. When I did the DNA test I was 76% West African and 26% European
@appletrio2 жыл бұрын
Or... Your grandmother was tell you the truth, The colonizers committed paper genocide (and still are using fraudulent DNA tests), took all our land force us to share our crops and disinherited those of us who have more melanated skin and and coilier hair from our tribes while simultaneously buying their way into tribal affilliation for as little as $5. See: pencil test. Indian removal act etc. Via - Dane Calloway (Historian)
@appletrio2 жыл бұрын
@KaliJah7 That's so sad. So it's better to take their word for it that we're ALL Africans then that they did what the always do which was gentrify, but this time the whole north American continent by way of mass murder and reclassification. Please stop helpin them. Stand up for yourself and your true ancestors.
@appletrio2 жыл бұрын
@KaliJah7 That's what I'm saying, there is proof out there for most people as far as stolen land etc. But most people won't even try to properly research anything. The most the will do is send off a cheek swab for a company to tell you whatever they want and that's the end of it. I will take effort to get back what is owed. I'm more interested in that than essentially begging for reparations from these trespassing entities. As long as we don't care to know the true nature of our disenfranchisement, and the legal/illegal means used to accomplish it nothing will ever be repaid. They KNOW most of us aren't Africans, they know THEY are currently enjoying OUR inheritances & living on our land which is why reparations in the way its being appealed for will never be granted.

@@appletrio Very true. I don’t know whyyyyyyyyyyyy any melanated person would actually believe the shit they have on those ancestry tests. Majority of ‘black’ people in the US are actually descendants of natives. Look at the Mexicans from Mexico (a good portion of Mexico was stolen by the US), Australia, Central and South America, Asia (including South Asia)… The indigenous people of every continent are melanated people. So to trust anything from a group of people who have a long history of barbarism and deceit…. Beyond me.
