I played so many gigs with a Bandit, a drive pedal, maybe a chorus or delay, and that was it. They got the job done as well or better than some much more expensive amps.

I love Bandits. I have a 2004 Bandit 112 transtube (made is USA). I still gig with it. these are built like a tank. every rock/metal guitarist should have one Bandit in collection.

I love the 80s Peaveys. My first proper amp was a little Peavey, and I loved the extra features other amps didn't have, like the Pull Thick, Pull Bright controls. They also sound great and, more importantly, are VERY playable. You can have hours of fun twiddling knobs, pulling and pushing switches, they are very much, ''hands on'' amps that invite you to play with them. 😊

You make it sound great! That brings back memories. I used to play through one in High School in the 80's. Rock on!

GP16 is an awsome unit. Bandit is a perfect match for it. Love the lrc triple delays, best chorus around.

I own this amp as well as the later 75 and 112 versions. This one has the best tone stack for getting the Fender tweed sound you mentioned. It would be cool to see Peavey reissue this amp.

Wow, plug in the Tube Screamer and suddenly you're Armed and Ready! ;) Sounds great, thanks for sharing! Back when this was the production model, I helped the son of my dad's friend buy a new one. I was using a BF Twin Reverb (loaded with EVM12Ls) at the time so I didn't give it a second thought. In hindsight, I should have bought a Bandit and a few pedals and avoided cycling through an embarrassing amount of gear over the past 40+ years!

That amp is special. when you engaged the crunch wow the amp came alive. That amp could be used in a recording studio, esp. in the 80s. I wouldn't be surprised if you get officers to sell the amp.

This was one of my first decent sounding amps back in the eighties. Thankful that Peavey put out some great amps at decent prices. It wasn't a Marshall, but it was decent and it was brand new.

This whole era of Peavey was USA built and great quality. They are a bargain 2nd hand buy and can handle rough and tumble more so than any modern amp!! With a speaker change, these lose the flabby sound and tighten up nicely 🙂
