Oh man, I loved your honesty reaction. Only a real man can cry 💪 The song is for her son, following her divorce from his father 😢 The opening lyrics "There's no gold in this river" - is referring to a gold wedding ring. "Drowning in silence" - is either referring to her ex-husband not talking OR her son blocking her out and going quiet. The 1st "non choice" that she HAD to choose was stopping singing whilst her son was an infant (hence the 6 year absence) - the visuals were the sheets of sheet music blowing out and away. The 2nd "non choice" that she HAD to choose was the divorce - the visuals showed her sitting (whilst obviously singing) in a chair, the camera lingers on her hand - minus her wedding ring. From start to finish, the director, very succinctly, embroidered poignant visuals throughout the vid. Nothing in the vid was wasted or frivolous - everything was purposeful and intentional. Most important though, was that the vid could NEVER be "bigger" than the song (similarly, the music was stripped back). The song had to tell the story - the song HAD to impact the listeners emotions. So fantastically clever 👏👏👏👏👏 She can write and sing so incredibly beautifully. What a star 🌟 Love from the UK 🇬🇧

Man, just let the tears roll... I've watched Adele's Easy On Me several times and bawl every single time...! She's singing her heart out, literally, and the fact that it moves us to tears means we too have a heart that can be moved. And that's a beautiful thing.

It's not just the voice, although that's a big part. Listen carefully to this song, or if you have the tech run it through sound analysis software. You'll see its not autotuned. She actually sings above the note in several places, which "technically" makes her sharp. Not that we hear it that way, because of the resonance in her voice. The point is the song feels so fresh, so authentic because nobody ran it through a computer. Even the piano is a real one I think (real pianos vary in volume depending on how hard you strike the keys--electronic keyboards don't). The song is a smash hit because it sounds real. People are tired of, exhausted by, fake.

I think it's the beauty of her voice that makes us want to cry. I remember years ago I went to the racetrack with a friend and I had never been before. The horses came out and they were beautiful. I'd seen horses before, but these animals were different. Much larger and VERY sleek. Then, when they began to run, I began to cry. Started with just a lump in my throat and then the tears came. They were the loveliest creatures and the way they moved was just stunningly beautiful to me. Such beauty and grace. It was overwhelming for me and it made me cry. I think that's what happens with Adele. Just my humble opinion.

No excuses needed to do Adele. Or for being affected by it. She's not some dumb pop singer, she's a timeless musical immortal. That's un-autotuned singing. And I'm pretty sure a real piano. Heck, you can tell she's even actually singing while filming the video, even if that's not the audio used (look at her jaw, and what we can see of her throat and chest, and you can tell she's not just mouthing the words). If you weren't affected by this, you'd need a shrink. This is what music used to routinely do for people before someone decided running it through a computer and stripping out most of the resonance was the industry standard.

@donnajess46553 жыл бұрын
Awesome review/reaction #Easyonme is actually for her son, explaining to him why she had to give up and went with a divorce. She is simply asking him to be easy on her with her decision for her own happiness despite the consequences her son may come around. It explains well in the 2nd verse. In 2nd verse, she says "You can't deny how hard I've tried. I changed who I was to put you both first//But now I give up" She even bought her ex-husband a house right by hers so he could have the best of both parents
