Casmo... I’m bored in my Study Hall in school right now and JUST got on youtube to learn about the TSD, that was the one thing that was stumping me the most yesterday. I can’t express how perfect of timing this was 😂 Get me home, I wanna keep flying this beautiful heli!!!! Again, thank you so much for these tutorials. Truly coming in clutch when not much information is out. One other thing that was kind of stumping me is how the trim works in the AH64 and the customization for the trim in the Special menu in the options. I couldn’t find much information on this. If you have the time, could you briefly go over this in some capacity? Love ya.

Thank you so much for making these videos! My son and I have been having an absolute blast in the Apache (with him as CPG and me as PLT). We are slowly and steadily improving and adding new "tricks" to our bag, many thanks to you and your videos! What started as just trying not to crash while maybe shooting a few unarmed trucks has now become night missions into defended territory. Great work as always, Casmo! I'm curious if I'm overthinking the Force Trim, or if it just doesn't quite work like the Ka-50, but I'm just having a bitch of a time trying to get into a stable hover in the Apache, and wonder if it's just because I was spoiled in the Ka-50...though I feel like I might be more stable in the Hind at this point. I'm still playing around with the trim options and everything, but figured I might just be missing something.
@Mossyyyyyyy2 жыл бұрын
The apache is much more of a "hands on" flyer. Trim it in small increment to a stable position and then refine your trim with small adjustments and multiple short presses of the trim switch. As you bring your flight profile where you want, be that hover, sideslip, aerodynamic trim or nose to tail trim you can simply tap trim and release controls. In short less holding the trim button like the KA-50 and more tapping it.
@__Dusty_2 жыл бұрын
Hey Casmo, any chance of a video talking purely about transition to hover? The Apache flies pretty nicely but whereas in the Mi8 I can make it do exactly what I want, I've found approach to hover/transitions a total bitch to get right. Might be something to do with slightly less feedback from the SCAS or whatever but I'd love to see some real-world technique and cues on how to do it properly. Cheers
@CasmoTV2 жыл бұрын
Practice 🤷🏻♂️ I mean there isn’t “a trick” to it. Every aircraft flies different. You have to learn how it handles and change to meet that standard. I think it flies like a dream whereas I think the Mi8 FM is hot garbage. Just have to go slow and figure out what you’re doing wrong with practice.

Hey man I got a question - thanks for all your vids btw - I was flying with a buddy the other day, with him as the CPG. When we were getting painted and eventually tracked by an SA-8, I could see on my TSD the 2D direction from which the radar ping was coming in the form of a yellow dotted line. However, my friend could not see this information. Does this have something to do with that threat page you didn't go into? The weird thing is, when I hopped into the same mission by myself later as the CPG (George AI pilot), I was able to see the yellow dotted line when getting painted by radar, by default. Any ideas what might be going on? Thanks again for your videos, and if you do manage to find time to answer my question, thanks very much.

Lookup trim modes....they have huge impact...Default behaviour is that if you hold trim up - you disconnect trim and when you let go - trim that exact position...You have to immediately let go of cyclic - if you dont, you cyclic position is instantly added to the trimmed position...and you end up with too much action... And you can even trim rudder - if you select it in options... Use right ctrl + enter to view your trim... Its easier to fly with some forward speed than hovering...so if you start losing control, try to aim nose down....
