I don't know how, but I believe your channel is under represented. I'm surprised I've just come across it. I appreciate your information delivery. The occasional (and optional, yet very helpful) depth sprinkled around inside of an easily digestible surface-level, conversational tone. Nice.

Some people say the correct code for a compact blast radius is 923( 000), whereas others say it is 920(000). Wonder who is right, need to test that. Well actually come to think of it, both may be correct since the default mode is compact so any code that is not 921 or 922 may just work for that. Anyway, thank you for your amazing videos, excellent and detailed explanations, it couldn't get any better than that.

Hello Sir, thank you for this video. I must say that its a very good point you are making at 1:25 and forward: The clear distinction between anti-vehicle and anti-tank and the point on mobility kills. I served as a MECHINF in the Royal Danish Army, and our unit had a daily contact with APC´s and our Leopard 2´s, and they said that all we needed to blown up, was the pin holding the tracks together or the bolt holding the drivesprocket, or just roll out barbed wire (Called" NATO wire" in the Danish Army back then), the wire was strong enough not to break but could either roll of the tracks or break of the drivesprocket. Lesson learned: KISS

Thanks. I am in the process of redoing all my Viggen tutorials which will release later this year.

Do not switch from beredskap (BER) to navigering (NAV) until you are on the runway otherwise you will program an error in CK, according to a real Viggen pilot ;)

I Always find my BK90 lands roughly 50M left of my target meaning i most often miss the target unless i manually set the point 50M to the left but that isnt the most accurate free hand. any idea why? I use the F10 map markers and the data cart as my method of creating an attack run

Get the Logitech Heavy Equipment Side panel. Its perfect for binding the mode and weapon selectors to and has a bunch of buttons left over. I bind all my 2:nd tier buttons to it which frees up my hotas a lot

Yep... the moment I saw that on the forums I said to myself "now see, someone made a Viggen radar stick and button panel, they just called it a farm truck panel" have some other hardware requirements in the near future but you can be sure I will be putting that in.

There's a couple of minor errors in here, especially concerning altitude. For one, you can release the BK-90 above 500 meters, it's just that the computer won't give you range indications, so you'll have to guesstimate yourself whether your glider will make it or not. (Swedish doctrine assumes that it's never safe to fly above 500m, because of soviet long-range SAMs and fighter dominance) Second information you gave about the Cruise Altitude settings is correct, but the implications you took away from them aren't quite right. The BK-90 release altitude is *always* 50m, if you set the cruise altitude to 500m, that doesn't mean you will drop directly over the target, it means that the missile will try to maintain 500m for as long as possible during its "cruise" phase before suddenly diving down to it's constant 50m release altitude on target. That's why you lose range, it's trying to stay higher longer. (but the cruise altitude setting doesn't actually do anything in DCS, according to the manual as of this writing)

Great explaining of things. I think you should use NAV as Master Mode to make the nav-points switching and only change to Master Mode ANF when you’re approaching the M1. I could be wrong though.
@Leadnap6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! My target waypoint was M7, and while I normally would switch at B6 from NAV to ANF (ATK in English) I knew that B6 was just a few km from the target waypoint (in this instance sloppy planning on my part due to changing the mission I created for this at the last minute since the slide deck portion was longer than anticipated) so I changed from NAV to ANF after B5 instead. I only did this because I knew I had to make a hard turn and level off for release, and didn't want to fiddle with also changing the master mode at the same time. You are correct, the master mode should remain in NAV until just before you are ready to approach the target. However you could actually fly the whole mission in ANF because navigational data remains on the HUD in that mode on the Viggen (unlike most aircraft).

Awesome. Love the amount of detail you communicate. Side note for anyone out there. Is the BK90 a built up unit out of the factory, or a flying dispenser that ordinance crews build up before loading. Would love to make my own recipe for destruction. LOL
@Leadnap6 жыл бұрын
I can't say specifically for the BK90 - but every DPICM releasing munition I ever fired or was around came as such from the factory.

This was one of my first tutorials (hence the radically different format) and I was using TrackIR at the time. I didn't use it during the filming on this one because I felt it was too jittery and wanted the stability of the camera not moving during the tutorial. Though I fly mostly in VR now - I still use TrackIR for tutorial and other filming.

Actually the radar just shows all green on screen. Why? :)
@maxalward2561 Жыл бұрын
you need to turn the radar on the green screen is just the display turned on you need to use A0 A1 A2 to turn on the radar

Nice tutorial. I like the way the Viggen fly's and it has very good maneuverability. I'm thinking although the concept is unique, there is a lot to do just to drop ordinance. Just my opinion, but way over complicated especially if you have to change mission parameters for some reason on the fly. Not really practical on a fluid battlefield IMHO.
