F-14 in DCS is my favorite jet to fly. Jolly Rogers paint scheme, and some 20mm TP ammo. Absolutely amazing. If you haven’t flown the F-14 B in DCS yet, you should try, it’s amazing.

I’m a total noob on DCS. I got the F-14 since its the most iconic fighter jet for anyone that was a kid in the 80’s. What I found is that the airframe shakes and groans under heavy load until it gets almost impossible to control… the afterburner sounds like my old boiler trying to light up… and I LOVE EVERY INCH OF IT

I just got into DCS recently and just discovered this trailer. I'm a former F-14 pilot and was amongst the last squadrons to "Last Time Baby" bring out beloved Cats in and transition to the F/A-18F. The 18 is a wonderful airplane but the Tomcat is by far the greatest and vastly superior in many ways and in many missions. The F-14D "Super" Tomcat, was the last variant and the one I flew from a young 23 years of age. I was in high school when Top Gun came out and I made it my mission in life to not only do whatever it took to become a Naval Aviator but to get pipelined into fighters for the sole purpose of flying the Tomcat. The Hornet was already in operation but I had zero interest in it. I won't get drawn into the debates over Tomcat verses Hornet because as any Naval Aviator from my era and even now knows as fact, the Navy has regreted the Tomcat's "retirement" from day one. The F-14D was perfection and the product of learning from F-14A and on. Nothing protected the fleet like the Tomcat and everyone knows this. I consider Dick Cheney a dirtbag of the highest order for being the driving influence to get the Tomcat cancelled. If a lesser idiot had been in his position at the time, we would have advanced variants of the Tomcat flying today. I have friends at Northrop Grumman and they still have the designs for the F/A-14F Advanced Super Tomcat in the system. I pray that a miracle will see the Tomcat rise from the ashes and be reborn. This video, literally brought tears to my eyes. The depictions within shows what we were trained for - all out war with the Warsaw Pact and Soviet Union. An alternate reality of what might have been and should have been in my opinion. I'm getting this module setup most ricky tick. Thank you Heatblur! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Love the 14! Has always been my favorite since I can remember. This is definitely a dream come true ever since I started with USNF 97. One thing I would like to see more resources of all types invested in, in DCS, is aircraft damage simulation. It must be impossible to get right, the possibilities are literally endless. But at the moment, its really jarring the moment an aircraft is hit by ordnance. The rest of DCS is so immersive and accurate, that it highlights how simple (comparatively) the damage modelling is, with entire slabs of the airframe sometimes just disappearing with an explosion over the top. Hitting your enemy is the most satisfying thing; getting closer to visual accuracy on that would be SO satisfying. I know its a chaos-type modelling problem. I would just suggest that processing/memory resource could be taken from other things just to improve this a little, for a massive amount of increased user enjoyment. (Across DCS, btw, not just Heatblur.)

I feel so sorry for he MSFS fans; we’re getting full fidelity combat jets with fully modeled weapons and avionics systems on the Tomcat, F-16, Eurofighter Typhoon, the F-4 Phantom II and the Hornet. And yeah the graphics are amazing on MSFS but I would trade good graphics and some of the best fighter planes ever to grace the skies. I have the Viper and the Tomcat right now and it’s almost impossible to explain how it feels like sitting in that cockpit getting your plane ready to take to the skies and go hunting. I long begged for a Combat flight simulator ever since I picked up FSX so many years ago and my prayers were finally answered. We truly are lucky to be able to witness this in real time dude.

Been keeping up with this project. You guys have done an absolutely amazing job on this project. Looks absolutely amazing. The F-14 is the jet that caused me to fall in love with aviation. The F-14B released yesterday since this post. Got a few hours of flying in and I gotta say, it is the best DCS plane i have flown thus far. Have flown the A-10C Warthog and F-18 Hornet and this is the easiest plane to fly. everything is laid out nicely and cold start is assisted by Jester and so no need of searching for flight manuals to just start up the plan. With the help of Jester and experimenting around the cockpit, I have learned faster in the F-14 than I have with the A-10C and F-18. those two on day one of me flying would take an hour to just start up the plane and still have not figured out half the weapon systems on them. My favorite Plane by far is the Tomcat and I don't see myself using the F-18 anymore XD and the 37 thumbs down are "Mig-28"s getting the bird and their pictures taken by inverted F-14Bs XD
