Actually the "smart" aircrafts, like the F/A-18C or A-10C use a "cheat", as the LGBs can not be changed by a little gremlin mid flight. IRL the JTAC or Pilot adjusts the code of the TPOD or other laser designator and never, ever the other way round. I would love the option in DCS to tell the AI to switch the laser code. 😍

There is at least the current compromise of using LSS to spot the JTAC target, then relying on the TPOD laser for delivery.

It's funny and sad at the same time that F/A-18C and A-10C II can change it mid flight, but F-16C can't do it at all, and is stuck with the code it was given through mission editor. So if you're a Viper pilot, make sure to check your bomb laser code in kneeboard.

@@spacekraken666 it's sad that you CAN change the code on the bomb outside your cockpit by magic, instead of telling the JTAC your bombs laser code, like you would in real life.

Why so sensitive about clouds? Isn’t targeting pod camera of F-14 also infrared so it should see through at least foggy clouds quite easily?

Infrared and laser will have trouble seeing through any kind of cloud or fog

@@vortex6818 In what reality? Astronomers use IR to see objects in gasclouds and inner part of our own galaxy that would be otherwise obstructed if looked with just visible light spectrum, and they have been calibrating their telescopes awhile now with lasers, so go bullshit someone else, please?
