-The BU did not get GBU-38. -It’s called the CDNU -The new Mission computer sounds cool, but it is primarily what made the other upgrades possible. There weren’t any super fancy new features added. AFAIK and what I hear from the SMEs is that AA LAR were still shit. -What you mean by sparrowhwak is referred to as the VDIGR (vertical display indicator group replacement), I’ve never heard anyone outside of DCS call it anything else than the VDIG-R. Sparrowhawk really only is the combiner glass and collimator, it is infact used to this day. The T-6B Texan 2 has it. The VDIGRs symbology was much better than what the F18 had at the time. For boat stuff DFCS together with the power PFPM (potential flight path marker) on the FPM/CDM (flight path marker/climb dive marker) made the BU really easy to land. Basically anything in terms of information that the HSD and displays is now added to the HUD. you also get the ALE47 threat indicators on the HUD. You get an F-Pole Cue (max crank) likely also because on the TID BR (bearing relative, was changed to Magnetic bearing) You get a Notch cue (STT only) you get your FFDL wingmen displayed on the HUD and many more crazy cool features. But note it’s still the AWG9/AWG15 radar/weapons control system. So the basic functionality has not changed. I.e. computer target and computer pilot AG modes are still the same, AG gunsight is still the same. Etc Anyways, hope this sheds some light on the BU

The PTID distribution in the fleet wasn't so cut and dried. For example, I think it was VF-31 that had PTID in some jets as far back as 1997-98, and those were Ds.

Yep, exactly. VF-154 with their F-14As got the ALR-67 and PTID in August or so of 1998.

@Nicolas-d7j unfortunately not fr. DCS development is VERY slow and doesn't have a definitive timeline. Expect it maybe late this year or early next at an optimistic view. 2 weeks just a joke in the DCS community since release estimates don't exist. If you see 2 weeks just know it's not serious.
