Cool video! just curious how come you didn't use dogfight mode AFT? i believe what it is called in options basically a dogfight mode for guns it will auto lock the target and the crosshair becomes dynamic so all you have to do is line up the crosshair on the aircraft.

Now that you mention it, I wonder if I'm hitting DM mode instead of DG mode. They look the same in the gunsight. If that's the case, it's a wonder I'm hitting anything at all. Must investigate...

Yep. Wrong direction on the switch. Damn. I wondered why sometimes it tracked and sometimes it didn't. Thanks for pointing it out - should make things easier going forward.

MRpilot yea and a tip incase your new to the acft you can be in missle mode on your hud but still override it to dogfight gun mode and flip it back to missle mod. The same applies to the dogfight missle function if were in either gun or missle mode via the hud. I can make a vid explaining it real quick if ya want.

Thanks! I leave the thumb switch on Auto and let the aircraft manage flaps for me.

I wonder how the engagement looked from oculus perspective. Was the image so sharp as we get on youtube in 1080p?

+Immm3r definitely not as sharp in oculus, spotting enemy is not easy. Part of the fun in making the videos is that I get to see it playback in high resolution

Windows mixed reality doesnt use external sensors right? Do you need to re-center the forward looking position when you are playing?

I'm using Oculus Rift (and not referring to windows mixed reality as a brand). So I have two external sensors. I center the forward position when I start a session and then usually don't have to think about it again until next time. I don't know much about windows mixed reality... that'd be unfortunate if it loses center point.

Have to set camera coordinates in DCS, which takes a lot of back and forth, then draw a mask in Final Cut Pro X. The good thing is once I get it working for a particular aircraft, I can reuse the same settings over and over.
