It looks so beautiful!!! The map looks a lot better, that alone should help impress potential new customers more than the ageing look it had before. Once we have small effects such as rain drops on the canopy and more natural vapor effects, DCS will be up there with the most visually impressive flight sims! And the Hornet is shaping up nicely! Can't wait to try it.

I really appreciate the cockpit camera position in the Hornet module - further away from the panel. On a 4K monitor, this will look superb.
@bend14837 жыл бұрын
H L-B you know you can change that easily on other aircraft?
@hughlb27 жыл бұрын
Not that easy - you can zoom out, but get a fish eye effect, or you can track the camera back, which means the HUD becomes larger than the glass it is projected on. Some aircraft are better with their camera position than others - spitfire / F-15 sit you closer to the panel, Viggen / F-5 sit you further away. Hornet looks like you sit a bit further back, which is great.

Wow! Will be great in VR. That was beautiful. Almost cried. Straight of Hormuz in the Hornet running in 2.5 here we come, yeah! Thanks for doing this and making it possible. Some fine day it will all be integrated as part of an AI run dynamic campaign with functioning tank and ship operations. It could become like the Star Citizen of combat flight sims, that's what I'd like to see DCS World become. I think it's the only logical direction for this game to go in, so that all these wonderful aircraft will all have something to DO in a collaborative war game, that really matters, much the way it's done on Falcon BMS (hire the guy who did that but said he never would try it again). I recommend having a kickstarter fundraising campaign for just such a vision. People would back it and DCS World would get a lot of attention as a result. Would go well with the release of 2.5. It's a thought, but a good one and one I'm sure you've had. Could set it up like a new studio but with a different mission.. Some day. We can always dream.

*The flight path shown would be only a little more cluttered* for how I'd envision one "could've been" aircraft: The USMC/Northrop Grumman F-14 Echo all-weather interdictor would've had the warning telltales (which were on the VDI flanks on earlier F-14's) on the windshield frame along with the compass and AOA indexer; an up-front control panel executed as a superset of what OKB Sukhogo did on the Su-57 due to the vertical cramping; stacked MFD's with 2ATI airspeed/altitude/radalt, 1/2-2ATI AOA/VS/G, A-6-style hydraulic pressure gauging, F-18-style engine gauging, and Gun/Mode-STP/Master Arm/Land panel to port, and 3ATI ADI/TWD, 2ATI cabin pressure, and Grumman-carryover fuel quantity set, and Chaff/Flare/Jammer/IR Cool/MAP Gain/Take-Off panel to starboard. Out of view would have been the portside Landing Gear/Flap/Slat/Airbrake panel (with tri-color LEDs for Nose/Slat x4/Port/Stbd/Splr x4/Flap x6/Brake), centerline Brake Pressure/Rud Ped Adj/Clock/BuNo panel, and starboardside Hook/HUD Ctrl/LOX panel (with tri-color HOOK LED and 2ATI LOX quantity remaining).

@barricade89577 жыл бұрын
Would love it, but I know IRL that the plane's alert system likely would be screaming a constant 'PULL UP. ALTITUDE WARNING. PULL UP'. Some of those turns are well below what even terrain following systems would allow. The banking turn at 0:43 would have damn near every alarm in the cockpit go off.
