How similar is this system compared to "magic carpet"?
@MattWagner3 жыл бұрын
ATC APP/ACLS is a similar function to MC. MC is much more current.
@C420sailor3 жыл бұрын
Quite different. Magic Carpet or Delta Path uses FCC logic to automatically seek an effective glideslope based on the basic angle of the lens and ship speed. Autothrottles are part of the system, but the flight control computer also incorporates direct lift control features to adjust flight path angle while remaining on-speed. With a centered ball, the jet will hold pretty close to a centered ball. For example, if you’re low, gently pull back on the stick until the ball is centered, then recenter the stick and the jet will hold that centered ball. The DLC features are important because ATC alone often has issues ‘keeping up’ with large control inputs, turbulence, etc. It’s even worse in the Rhino-ATC can be virtually unusable in nasty conditions. The ability for the FCCs to make a small glideslope correction with minimal throttle input is huge. It makes flying a beautiful pass MUCH easier.
