Footage for this video was captured directly from one of the 2 VR "eyes" and stretched to fit the render area. Resolution for the first-person views is, therefore,m substantially lower quality than the external views footage.

Great shooting, it was a fun sortie. I think I know why you had the small stick vibration 8:53 I think you forgot to stow the landing light on the wing and it might have been causing the small vibration once we were cutting along at speed.

I’ve noticed the occasional control surface flutter on the P47 too. It doesn’t seem to affect the plane at all, but the stick shakes visibly
@philstyle2 жыл бұрын
I think it started as we were diving on that formation of 190s. But I cannot pin it down to any airframe or engine setting. Weird. Noone else reported anything similar, so I must be doing something different/ wrong to the other guys.

Is that stick vibrating a visiual artifact, or something happening in sim, that can't be detected due to no force feedback? Just and interesting thing I noticed.
@philstyle2 жыл бұрын
The landing light was not retracted and it was causing turbulent air, and the flutter. See the other comments.

Phil, any thoughts on taking the code from Enigma and making a dynamic campaign for DCS? I think that’d be the best server in DCS.
@philstyle2 жыл бұрын
1. I would not "take" code from anyone, unless it was explicitly offered up for use 2. Dynamic campaigns almost always end up being non-historical beasue they give individual players far too much power to control the strategic environment. That's not what I am into.

Hi Phil. Can I ask what Mobo, CPU, GPU and Memory you are running? Lovely and smooth video, great graphics, very impressive footage too. Really love the Jug! I have been using my old 6700K and 1070 for an absolute age and next year I am doing a 13900k build, probably with a 3090 rather than 40xx build. Hi sir, I'm writing from France & I'm happy you're back with a high quality video. I'm always looking at utube to see if you uploaded some new warbirds videos. To me, you're the best in the business. It's always a pleasure to watch your vids. I'm learning so much every time. I have 3 questions. Is the Mossie available on DCS (Mossie's my best loved twin-engines-do-everything warbird)? Are there campaigns built for her? If so, will you play and upload episodes on your youtube channel? THX for your aswers. Take care & be safe. Philippe.

Christ, hold your head still every once in a while. I know you're playing so you have to keep your view outside to keep from getting shot but we're watching and we need a little stability to catch up. It can, given the correct circumstances, cause a little bit of nausea. Does the VR system that you use have a stabilizing thing like electric cameras use; a steady cam kinda thing?
@philstyle2 жыл бұрын
No chance mate. That's just how VR is, even your heartbeat causes the headset to move. . I already have the damping turned up to 100% for that very purpose. Don't like it? Unsub/ block the channel.
@acegh0st2 жыл бұрын
That’s just the nature of recording VR gameplay. If the image movement in the headset wasn’t exactly 1:1 with your head movement you’d get motion sick really quickly while you were flying. Unfortunately, that means when people watch the recording back they see every little movement of your head. That’s why a lot of people just don’t make VR content for DCS (including Phil, bar a small sampling of videos). The only way you can really do it differently is to use the replay to re-record the whole mission without the headset and use TrackIR to recreate your basic head movements, but that’s a lot of work for not much reward (even though Phil’s done that in the past, as well). This is actually remarkably stable. A lot of the recordings I’ve done are totally unwatchable 😂

Sorry to say Phil, not your best video. Recording in VR is very difficult viewing. The amount of head movement causes the picture to jerk around far too much. I had to stop viewing after 5 mins, it was just too uncomfortable on my eyes.
