A local talk radio station once had a PSA in which a WW2 US army infantryman was talking about fighting across France, living in the dirt and mud, and one day seeing a wave of US bombers flying east overhead. “Man, those guys have it made! Beds to sleep in at night, hot chow every day, hot showers, what a life!” Some hours later he saw them flying west, greatly reduced in number and with a lot trailing smoke or on fire. “Boy, I’m glad I’m not up there!”

What distance are your guns set to to shoot so accurately in theses IL2 videos? If I remember correctly the default is set to converge at 500m, but I have heard that in real life pilots had their guns set to converge at 200-250m. Every time I watch one of these videos I am amazed how accurate your shots are over a pretty broad range of distances. From my experience planes in IL2 become extremely inaccurate when you get inside their set gun range since the shots end up left and right of the target.
@mattilaiho79792 жыл бұрын
It seems quite often GS is flying planes with much of their armament mounted in the nose. My personal preference in IL2 has been 250, as I've experimented and found I personally can't hit beyond 350 so convergence won't really matter at longer ranges.
@jasemo3882 жыл бұрын
