I started to have more interest with cold war era technology after playing the "Wargame" strategy-series, and your insights bring my knowledge and respect about that era to a whole new level! Because it's a very serious simulator. Have you watched some serious ARMA videos? it's people walking in forests for 2 hours, and then a fire fight and it's over. I expected something similar from this. But was pleasantly surprised.

Nice video. One correction though regarding the cyclic control. If you push the cyclic to the left then, the pitch angle will decrease on the front part of the rotor disc and increase in the rear, if the rotor is turning anti-clockwise. And vice versa if the rotor is turning clockwise. Reason for this is that the turning rotor acts like a big gyroscope so the effect of the force on the disc occurs always 90 degrees later in the direction of the spin.

Interesting; coming from Wargame Red Dragon (an RTS with 80's NATO vs Warsaw Pact military systems), KA-52 heli has a special SEAD (suppression enemy air defenses) missiles specifically designed to lock on and kill enemy radar using AA systems. While the Patriot, has awesome range and accuracy, but only against airplanes and is useless against helicopters.

+Sergiy Dubovik The Standard 3 channels are on, until the chopper gets damaged, than they dont work. And i trim so that i can keep the stick as centered as possible, makes flying more precise.

The gear wouldn't extend because you had a common hydro failure (I'm sure you noticed the BIT display saying so). The Ka-50 has 2 hydraulic systems: Main (operates the trimmer and power assist for the controls) and Common (operates the gear, the cannon aiming system and any other miscellaneous hydraulics). If you suffer a common system failure and the main hydro system still works you can use the switch next to the gear lever to set the gear to be operated by the main system instead. Sadly, battle damage to the Ka-50 usually results in the failure of both.

No FCRs on the Ka-50 as far as I remember. There was one coupled with an OLS on the 28 Night Hunter though...

Secrecy was always higher in Russia/USSR. DCS which was made in the 90s/2000s was just an exception to the rule which, I guess, is just an aftershock of the USSR downfall and the liberal 90s.

At the moment i use a Saitek X-52. I think when i made this video i was still using a Logitech 3d pro, which is cheaper but breaks easily.

Its a great machine to fly but would it not make a lot more sense and be of more value to people to actually co-ordinate your narrative with what you ar doing on the video, to demonstrate the various factors affecting helo flight? Youre talking about one thing and the video is completely unrelated to what you are discussing.

In the real combat the enemy always will try to regain initiative, its not a bot that doesn't do shit if you out of his range, or if he is not programed for this situation. In the real fight you need to overhelm the opponent and be bold.
