Just a heads up, the Doppler system in DCS uses Magnetic headings, and the map measures headings referenced to True North. The caucuses has a Magnetic Variation of 5 Deg. E. So following the mnemonic aid "East is least (-), West is best (+)" We subtract 5 degrees from our true heading to find our desired magnetic heading (You can find this by looking at the north arrow on airport charts in DCS, for the nearest airport). 259-5=254. I've discovered this by being off on longer distance Doppler flights.

+randomKZbinR Thanks, that's a good tip. I was a little surprised that I ended up north of the lake rather than in the middle.

Thank's for sharing with us. Really DCS modules are for the most of them really great. I love choppers and it's fun to see how without numeric stuff like GPS and so on Russian engineers have found clever solutions to achieve their goals. Really fun. Thank's a lot.

I used to fly the Tu-154-B2 in FSX a long time ago. It's nice to see Doppler navigation again. The NVU system on the Tu-154 is very similar, just it can retain two potential waypoints and switches them as needed allowing you to program the next one.

Hey this is off topic but how the hell do i get my gunsight working on the f86...i watched your tutorials but you never talked about it
@shazaris73308 жыл бұрын
You need to set the switch to 'guns' in front of your stick. Don't forget to switch all guns on to the left of the cockpit

engine 2 RPMs drop because engine 2's anti-icing system operates automatically when ice is detected. It's up to you to follow up with engine 1's anti-icing when it's safe to have reduced power from both engines. you'll have figured this out in the last 6 years though, I'm sure!
