Gotta show the outside view! Exactly what I found also. I fly the base to short final just a touch fast with slow beep then, fast beep on short final - then land right on speed maybe a hair slow. Great control! I’ve tried the pattern on speed and man it is going to be a beast around the boat

Yeah similar to how i fly the mig 21 fly a bit faster until short final, and i would gladly include outside view if multiplayer replays worked

@@DessertUnicorn Thanks and I wish you the same! It really is a fun plane to learn! Tough as nails but it makes it that much more satisfying. I hopped into the F-5 and the A-4 for a little bit this afternoon and they feel like easy mode now compared to the F-4 :D

Some things you can improve on: AoA indicator should be on about 19.2 throughout. You were never on glide slope until the very last second. You flaring right before touchdown was pretty good and on time.

Glide slope and AoA are two different things. But yeah he landed fast, and flew a very fast approach.

that was with a heavy load out tooo! i know people say you need to fly the glideslope the whole way down, but i prefer to keep it a notch fast right up until touchdown. flying 15+ AoA the whole way is sketchy

I was running a heaaavy load out cuz the server was restarting 6x mavs 4x aim7 and 4x aim9 so it was hard to keep that thing floating

the fm in that regime seems pretty off anyway it wont hold an aoa that you trim for and rubber bands around

@@Kolobochok95 it's not off, it's spot on, right on the money. Have you seen the approach speed charts in the dash one? Being heavier does require a higher landing speed, but when you're on speed you'll hear a steady tone, regardless your weight. The AoA is constant. And in this video the approach was so fast, that the 'too fast' tone didn't even come on.

@@Kolobochok95 it is rubber bandy but i think that is expected with heavy swept heavy planes without any fly by wire. I watched some real life air show take offs and landings and they seem pretty rubber bandy too not to an extentent as it is in DCS but happens at similar times. and we don’t get any feedback through our stick unless we’re spending a thousand dollars so that puts us at a disadvantage

You don't aerobrake in the F-4 iirc. Get the nose down, > 200 Knots = deploy drag chute , > 70 knots = brakes.
