Amazes me that it's been 21 years since falcon 4 and dynamic campaign isn't a standard of flight sims. I get it takes a heck of an engine to run it but they made the story line campaign obsolete in the 90's

I imagine it has to do with how much work making a dynamic campaign is relative to how niche combat flight sims are nowadays. They were a lot more popular in the 90s and early 2000s so it was probably easier to justify putting the work in.

Even back to my Jane's F-18 days and Falcon 4 SP3 days from then to now hasn't been much more come out than IL2 and Eagle Dynamics products. I know ED supposedly is putting a team together to build a dynamic campaign engine.

@@johnhogue8946 I'd say the work on the dynamic campaign is a good bit more progressed than we might think. Judging from what was said in interviews this year the core engine behind it has been designed. I would say they're well into designing the actual game features now. However... I think the DCS AI needs a huge improvement before a dynamic campaign would work, among other things like the comms overhaul.

Pc gamers are complaining WAY too much when it comes to frame drops lol. Frame drops will always exist. Even in console games. Be glad it's not 1 fps frame rates God damn it! Especially for the amount of units you'll tend to place on one map. Be glad the game is running at all.

When creating missions you can add more flights to the mission. So you can set up the strike, then add escort, SEAD all in one mission.

Definitely need to keep some more distance between you and targets like those BMP's, or else you're just asking to be taken out. Also, I couldn't tell but it looked like you were having issues with setting SPI and getting your sensors to point to your SPI. Forward long press on your TMS to create SPI and you can also do a short right press to create markpoints through your HMDS. China hat forward long to slave all sensors to SPI. Also, coolie hat short to make your HMDS your SOI. Best of luck!

RACETRACK are two definite Way points (for example 2 and 3). The Aircraft has to fly back and forth between the two way points. Until it gets another job.

It's the term you use to call the path between 2 waypoints which you will do BARCAP on which stands for BARrier Combat Air Patrol. So you pretty much set up a barrier along the race track, keep going back and forth and engage bandits that get too close for comfort.

All are necessary, each beeping you hear tells you something different. Whether or not it is a new threat in your area, someone that is painting your plane with radar, or a missile has fired, or a malfunction in your airship. They all are things you want to know about.

The RWR.... to many Radars (Aircrafts, SAM) are on Red Alert in the Mission.

Radar Warning Receiver. It provides auditory cues such as telling you when a radar is searching for you, has got a lock on you and when a missile is inbound. The sounds get progressively more noticeable as the threat level increases. It helps when your SA is gone and you cant look at the MFDs to tell you what's going on as you're maneuvering.

There's some major optimization in the options he glazed over. Turn off smoke, infantry, and use culling. Without culling he loaded THE ENTIRE map's worth of units instead of just the AO. My pc is midrange from 4 years ago and I'm getting 80+ fps
